2010Feb5: The cost of the Arctic’s rapid ice melt will be $2.4 trillion by 2050 as the region loses its ability to cool the global climate, according to Pew Environment Group’s Oceans North “An Initial Estimate of the Cost of Lost Climate Services Due to Changes in the Arctic Cryosphere” report (Pew Charitable Trusts).
