Drivers caught speeding in Cook County will no longer be able to get out of some speeding tickets.
Wednesday, a judge ruled that tickets issued by LIDAR speed detectors are legal.
The LIDAR speed detector is like a radar gun, but uses a laser to track speeds instead of radio waves.
The laser guns had not been tested in court, so over the last year many people got out of their tickets.
