It’s no secret that Renault F1 Team’s policy in naming the 2010 Formula One lineup was strongly linked with the team’s need for sponsorship. While signing Robert Kubica for his strong credentials in the series – he used to battle for the world title back in 2008 – Vitaly Petrov was brought to Enstone because of his strong sponsorship (nevertheless, nobody could argue against the fact that he’s a great racer, having finished the 2009 GP2 Series in the runner-up).
