“Sesame Street” Loretta Long Struck By Car

Oh no! Loretta Long, the actress who has played Susan on Sesame Street for 40 years, has been hospitalized with head injuries and a fractured leg after she was hit by a car in New Jersey this week, according to NJ.com.

The veteran star, who has appeared on the children’s public television classic as Susan Robinson since its premiere in 1969, was crossing Route 130 at Dutch Neck Road in Trenton on Tuesday when she was struck by a vehicle and carried 70 feet.

Loretta, 71, was rushed to nearby Fuld Hospital where she remains hospitalized “in good spirits.”
