“American Pie” Reboot Headed To Theaters

Universal Pictures has commissioned screenwriters Harold And Kumar, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg to pen the screenplay to a fourth American Pie film that will feature the return of several members of the 1999 original, The Los Angeles Times said on Thursday.

Insiders say the studio is eager to reboot the series, which followed a group of high school seniors hoping to lose their virginities before graduation. American Pie — which starred Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Shannon Elizabeth, and Alyson Hannigan — grossed more than $200 million worldwide and spawned two sequels, American Pie 2 and American Wedding. The franchise has also inspired four straight-to-DVD follow-ups, each starring original castmember Eugene Levy reprising his role as Noah Levinstein — including Band Camp, The Naked Mile, Beta House, and The Book Of Love.
