Sir Elton John sat down for an interesting interview — where he chats candidly on celebrity, his relationship with longtime partner David Furnish and his conviction that Jesus was gay — in this week’s issue of Parade.
“I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East — you’re as good as dead…..”
Uh-oh, controversy’s a’comin! This should rattle some good old-fashioned Christian outrage over at the Vatican and throughout middle America. (Grabs popcorn and awaits the fallout…..)
