Andrew Koenig’s Parents Walk Off Larry Ling Live

The parents of Andrew Koenig walked off Larry King Live last night before being interviewed, and no one is sure why.

The Koenig’s were at a Vancouver studio where they were waiting to talk with Larry about their missing son. They were there up until 2 minutes before they were scheduled to go on. King told his viewers:

“For some reason unbeknownst to anyone, Walter Koenig, the father of the missing Andrew Koenig, and [Andrew’s mother] Judy Levin-Koenig… left the studio in Vancouver. We checked them out, they were prepared to go on, I said ‘hello,’ they said ‘hello. We said we’d be on in two minutes, they said ‘fine.’ And they got up and left, for reasons unknown.”

Breaking news cut into their time and so their segment had been cut short. Perhaps that’s the reason they got up and left.

A pre-recorded segment with Andrew’s sister Danielle was aired. She said her brother suffers from depression and that they are very worried about him.

Andrew Koenig was last seen on February 14th at a bakery in Vancouver, BC. He reportedly cleared out his apartment in Venice, CA before heading to Canada. He told friends he planned on moving there.

Andrew sent his parents a letter postmarked on February 15th in which his father says he sounded “despondent”. He has not contacted them since.

Earlier this week Andrew’s landlord mentioned to the media that Andrew did not get along with his mother. Could this be the reason be has not contacted his parents to let them know he is OK?

There have been numerous sightings of Andrew in Vancouver, but nothing yet has led to his whereabouts.

UPDATE:

The Koenigs say that they felt the show disrespected them and their son by pushing back their allotted time, over and over again. Larry King Live’s producers decided to take up most of the show talking about Shamu the whale killing the trainer rather than their missing son. The Koenigs were scheduled to go on at 6:30pm. However, at 6:55pm they were angry at the show and asked the camera crew to leave their hotel room, where they were to be interviewed via satellite.
