“Shrek Forever After” World Premiere Tribeca Film Festival April 21

The world premiere of Shrek Forever After — the fourth and final chapter in DreamWorks’ blockbuster Shrek series — will open at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on April 21.

Shrek Forever After stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas, and is the first Shrek feature released in 3-D. Shrek’s nemesis in the upcoming film is Rumpelstilskin, voiced by Walt Dohrn, who tricks Shrek into giving up his current, comfortable life, sending him into an alternate version of Far, Far Away. The film opens in theaters nationwide May 21.

The annual New York film festival was co-created by Robert De Niro to revitalize the Big Apple in the aftermath of 9/11. It has become one of the most prominent film fest in the country. The ninth annual Tribeca Film Festival runs through May 2. The rest of the lineup will be announced later this month.
