Los Angeles:The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Commercial Crimes Division,Burglary Special Section detectives are asking for the publics help inidentifying a suspect who stole jewelry from a hotel guest room.
OnMarch 5, 2010, the suspect posed as a hotel employee and entered a FourSeasons Hotel guest room in the 300 block of South Doheny Drive inLAPDs Wilshire Area where he took $40,000 worth of jewelry from thevictim. Security video captured the suspect on the hotels elevatorprior to the crime.
Hoping similar incidents can be avoided, detectives are releasing thesurveillance still photo from the hotel to alert other local hotels ofthe suspects criminal activity and to encourage them to take everyprecaution.
The detectives investigation is in the preliminary stages, and at thistime they are uncertain if the suspect is the same one linked toseveral downtown hotel theft cases from last year.
