Generation Xers and Hollywood stars are mourning the death of Corey Haim. The ’80s teen idols died after collapsing in his suburban Los Angeles apartment early Wednesday.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death, but police and coroner’s officials tell Entertainment Tonight that Haim was violently ill with flu-like symptoms and taking prescription medications before his death.
“He could have succumbed to whatever (illness) he had or it could have been drugs. Who knows?” Los Angeles Police sergeant William Mann said. “He has had a drug problem in the past.”
Corey’s mom, Judy Haim, told RadarOnline.com in an interview this morning that she is battling cancer and “devastated” by the loss of her 38-year-old son: “I am a cancer victim and Corey was helping me at home. He was a good boy. I’m devastated by his death.”
Haim, 38, was made famous in a string of 1980s films including The Lost Boys, with Corey Feldman. Haim struggled with drug addiction for some time.
