Add chiseled screen star Channing Tatum and British sweetheart Keira Knightley to the list of stars approached for Marvel’s Captain America movie.
The Dear John hunk has joined soap star Wilson Blethel, Mike Vogel, Chris Evans, and Ryan Phillippe have also been approached to play Steve Rogers, a weak World War II solider who is injected with a serum and transformed into a musclebound superhero.
Meanwhile, Knightley has been shortlisted for the female lead Peggy. The First Avenger: Captain America will begin shooting the UK this summer and is slated for theatrical release in July 2011.
