If the Fashion Industry had its own flag, it would be waving at half-staff this Monday. Today marks the final shooting of ABC’s award-winning dramedy Ugly Betty.

After debuting to rave reviews and critical acclaim in Sept. 2006, a series of schedule changes and low ratings ultimately marked the beginning of the end of the show about a plucky girl from Queens working as an assistant in the Concrete Jungle of Manhattan’s fashion world.
In January, ABC announced that the current fourth season of Betty will be its last.
“It’s hard for me to imagine what my life is going to be like after that last day,” said series star America Ferrera, discussing the final day of shooting at press screening for her Dreamworks film, How to Train Your Dragon.
“I’ve been doing (Betty) for the last four years, five days a week, 10 months out of the year,” Ferrera explained, careful to remain mum on the details of the upcoming series finale. “I can’t tell you how it will finish, then you wouldn’t watch it,” she remarked coyly.
The final episode of Ugly Betty will air next month.
