The third annual Columbia Basin College Foundation scholarship banquet raised more than $94,000 for scholarships at a gala event on the CBC campus March 19.
The event included dinner, silent and live auctions, and a concert by pianist Anthony Padilla. A Richland native, Padilla is professor of piano and chamber music at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin.
The highlight of the evening was a testimonial from Foundation board member, Marsha Halverson, a CBC graduate. Halverson is a longtime Pasco elementary school teacher and her personal endorsement helped raise nearly $24,000 from guests who raised their paddles.
The money raised will go toward this year’s scholarship awards for students.
