Jesse James has checked himself into an Arizona treatment facility for sex addction in a bid to “save his marriage” amid allegations he cheated on wife Sandra Bullock with a string of inked-up other women.
The Hollywood couple’s union was rocked earlier this month after tattoo model Michelle McGee went public with claims she romanced the married reality star for 11 months, including a period when Bullock was in Georgia shooting her award-winning role in the inspirational hit The Blind Side.
At least five other women have come forward with allegations of affairs with James since McGee’s claims first surfaced on the pages of In Touch Magazine two weeks ago. The Spike TV reality star has not admitted to cheating on his wife, but broke his silence on March 18 to apologize to Bullock for the “pain and embarrassment” he’s caused his family.
A rep for the West Coast Choppers mechanic released a statement confirming reports that the star had entered Sierra Tuscon rehab facility to seek help.
“Jesse checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues,” his rep said in a statement to PEOPLE. “He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage.”
The Oscar-winnning actress, who walked out on the father of three after the scandal broke, is reportedly preparing to file for divorce – but he’s now seeking professional treatment in a last-ditch effort to save their relationship. The type of rehab facility James’ is in was not disclosed, however, both TMZ and Radar Online claim it is a facility which treats sex addiction.
