Skyfire might not be as well known as Firefox or Opera, but the alternative browser is one of the most popular (and praised) available for Windows Mobile. The company recently set their sights on Android when they acquired Kolbysoft, makers of the popular Steel browser.
Michael Kolb (founder of Kolbysoft) was named as the chief client architect for all of Skyfire’s browsers across operating systems in order to speed up their Android effort and it looks like he has delivered. In a company blog post, Skyfire announced they are ready to begin their Android alpha program and are looking for testers.
If you would like to participate in the alpha testing of Skyfire for Android, head over to their blog and fill out an application. Slots are limited, so sign up now if you are interested.
