A minimum change with resounding success! With immediate effect, eurolaser equips its LCS (Laser Cutting System) series with this new innovation. What does it entail? Above all, 15 years of gathered know-how, implemented in a practical application, laser cutting and engraving. Robert Güttler, head of our development department for systems building is a genius with regard to optimisation of important assemblies or components in plant engineering. Here it becomes clear who does their research effectively and performs integrated analyses. The new SG30 product – a special 360º sucking nozzle – could be adapted to the laser cutting optics and the successful LCS series could set new standards in the following important disciplines:
* Minimisation of noise
* Reduction of maintenance
* Minimisation of pollutants at the workplace
* Simplified handling
* Process improvement
* Safety optimisation.
This solution, which has been applied for a patent, is fully able to meet the continuously increasing demands due to higher laser output and to fulfil new limit values also for problematic material in laser material processing. Naturally, according to the eurolaser company and product philosophy, almost all supplied system types can be upgraded with the SG30. In field tests, a selected number of customers – users of different applications – have assessed this solution to be particularly innovative and welcome. Even more reason to take notice of eurolaser, as we set standards in laser processing.
Toyota has announced that the recently announced halt in production will be limited to this week only, as originally scheduled. “We will begin production again next week,” Jim Lentz, president of Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., noting that production will re-commence February 8.
The stoppage was announced last week as Toyota outlined plans to suspend delivery of eight models which were identified as part of a safety recall late last month.
Kim Kardashian has shared a pic of herself holding her newborn nephew Mason. The Keeping Up and the Kardashians star posted the photo on her Twitter page Friday afternoon, Tweeting:

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.
After the announcement of the things happening here and the high interest we received from the release of the Touchpro2 ROM, we want to know what devices you want to see our ROM on? The poll will help us decide where to go next, but keep in mind this is not a guarantee, so if we find that we can not get this ROM going for some reason, then sorry we can’t and apologize for it. I also want to say look out for the video demo of the TouchPro2’s ROM coming up sometime today and maybe the HD2 ROM will accompany it.
Already then, vote and if we forgot your device and you think it will get enough votes, then comment and alert us.
Despite its being included in the recent Toyota recalls, GM says that the Pontiac Vibe is safe to drive. The 2009-2010 Vibes were included in the recall by virtue of their being the sister vehicle to the Toyota Matrix and having been produced at GM and Toyota’s former joint venture plant in Fremont, California.
GM received no complaints of faulty accelerators before the Toyota recalls, but since the recall they have received several complaints of sticking accelerators, but it is believed that none of the complaints involved a crash or incident.
Both GM and Toyota seem to be trying to pawn responsibility off to the other for the recall, but GM spokesman Alan Adler has said that they believe Toyota to be responsible as they designed, engineered, and manufactured the Vibe. Toyota on the other hand, waives responsibility as they say GM had sourced pedals from CTS to build the Vibe as part of the joint venture.
“We ran the Vibe wide open at 60 miles an hour and the brakes were able to bring the vehicle to a safe stop within 169 meters, consistent with our internal requirement for brake performance.” said Martin Hogan, GM director of brake systems.
However this issue of responsibility is to be settled, GM has said it will communicate with Vibe owners about getting the vehicles fixed at Buick-GMC dealers once Toyota prescribes a fix. Until then, Vibe owners who experience a sticking accelerator should park the car and have it towed to a GM dealer.
Press Release:
GM Tests Show Vibe Brakes Can Stop Unintended Acceleration
General Motors has tested two Pontiac Vibe small SUVs and found the brakes stop the vehicle in case of unintended acceleration.
The 2009-10 Pontiac Vibe, a sister vehicle of the Toyota Matrix, is included in two Toyota recalls related to unintended acceleration, one for sticking accelerator pedals and one for possible floor mat entrapment. The Vibe was designed, engineered and manufactured by Toyota through August 2009 at New United Motor Manufacturing, which was a GM-Toyota joint venture.
“We ran the Vibe wide open at 60 miles an hour and the brakes were able to bring the vehicle to a safe stop within 169 meters, consistent with our internal requirement for brake performance.” said Martin Hogan, GM director of brake systems.
In the rare case of a sticking throttle, a driver should apply the brakes firmly and steadily until you come to a stop. Do not pump the brakes, which can deplete the available vacuum boost from the brake system.
Any customer who experiences any accelerator pedal issue should immediately park the vehicle, and have it towed to their GM dealer for an inspection.
Toyota has identified a repair for the Vibe, which will be serviced by GM dealers. GM and Toyota are sorting out how soon parts will be available. The Vibe braking tests were conducted by GM engineers on Saturday at the Milford Proving Grounds after several customers complained of sticking accelerator pedals following the Toyota recalls involving the Vibe were announced Jan. 21 and 27.
None of the complaints have resulted in a crash or injury.
Prior to the recall announcements, GM had not received any relevant customer complaints in the 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe. Nor were there any complaints found in a search of U.S. and Canadian databases.
GM will communicate with the approximately 99,000 Vibe owners in the United States and Canada as soon as additional information about the recalls is received from Toyota.
Climategate became necessary to achieve the political objective
Canada and the US announced new targets for carbon reduction that are completely unnecessary. It is madness and ultimately destructive to western society but what the perpetrators want. Despite exposure of the complete corruption of the science they continue to assume CO2 is a problem. UN Climate chief Yves De Boer said, “what’s happened, it’s unfortunate, it’s bad, it’s wrong, but I don’t think it has damaged the basic science.”
British Climate Secretary Ed Miliband said, “It’s right that there’s rigour applied to all the reports about climate change, but I think it would be wrong that when a mistake is made it’s somehow used to undermine the overwhelming picture that’s there,” It’s not one mistake but a complete fabrication of every aspect of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Reports. In addition, science is only correct when accurate predictions are made and the IPCC have been wrong in every single one. Miliband’s thinking helps explain why the UK is on the brink of economic disaster and needs a diversion. It is said, despite the disclosures, because the objective of eliminating fossil fuels and destroying industrial economies is still pursued.
What they don’t understand or choose to ignore is that the basic science was wrong from the start.
We’re eagerly looking forward to seeing the 2011 Ford Mustang V6 enter the egmCarTech garage later this year for a week-long test-drive – and that’s mainly because like Motor Trend, we were very disappointed by the 210-hp 2010 Ford Mustang V6.
For 2011, things have changed dramatically. Ford replaced the 210-hp V6 with a new 3.7L V6 Ti-VCT that makes 305-hp and a peak torque of 280 lb-ft. Ford says that 2011 Mustang V6 should return an estimated 19/30 mpg (city/highway) with a 6-speed automatic and 18/29 with a 6-speed manual.
305-hp and 30 mpg on the highway one-ups the 2010 Camaro’s 304-hp and 29 mpg.
Check out Motor Trend’s take in the video posted after the jump.
CHICAGO –- In conjunction with African-American History Month, the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) today honored African-American Veterans in Illinois for their dedicated military service, and named retired U.S. Army Col. Eugene F. Scott, president of the Chicago Defender Charities, as the February 2010 Veteran of the Month.
Gov. Pat Quinn also issued a proclamation declaring today as African American Veterans Recognition Day in Illinois.
“Every day we should give thanks to the men and women who bravely stepped forward and answered the call to duty when this nation needed them, even as they often faced segregation, bigotry and injustice within their own ranks,” said IDVA Director Dan Grant.
“During this month and always, we must recognize the contributions of African-American Veterans who honorably served to protect and expand the very freedoms we all enjoy today.”
State Sen. Toi W. Hutchinson (D-Olympia Fields), vice-chair of the state’s Veterans’ Affairs Committee, presented Gov. Quinn’s proclamation declaring Feb. 1, 2010 as African American Veterans Recognition Day in Illinois at the ceremony, which was held in the James R. Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph St., Chicago.
“Gov. Quinn and the State of Illinois are proud to recognize the great sacrifices and accomplishments of African-American Veterans,” said Sen. Hutchinson.
“Their contributions to our state and our nation will never be forgotten.”
Director Grant presented the February 2010 Veteran of the Month Award to retired U.S. Army Col. Eugene F. Scott, former publisher of the Chicago Defender newspaper.
Scott is president of the Chicago Defender Charities, which provides educational and cultural programming, including the world-famous Bud Billiken Parade.
Scott served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1990, earning numerous awards and decorations, including the Legion of Merit, Combat Infantryman Badge and two Bronze Stars, among others.
He has remained a strong advocate for Veterans in Illinois and nationwide, serving as chairman of the National African-American Military Museum, and working on the boards and committees of other organizations including the Bronzeville Military Academy, Illinois Military Flags Association, Giles Post #87 and the Illinois Secretary of State’s Veterans Advisory Committee.
“Col. Scott has been a true friend to Illinois veterans and an important voice in advocating for the recognition of African-American veterans,” Grant said.
“He distinguished himself through nearly three decades of service to the United States Army, and continues to serve veterans in Cook County and nationwide through numerous organizations.”
ABC7Chicago sports anchor Jim Rose, an Army veteran who began his sports broadcasting career while serving in West Germany, served as Master of Ceremonies.

Alfa Romeo concept sketch by Stile Bertone – Click above for high-res image
Two down, one to go. Well…not quite. Three of Italy’s most venerable design houses are set to unveil concept cars at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show that will at once both celebrate Alfa Romeo‘s centenary (and, by extension, their historic collaborations with each of the studios) while bidding to replace the current 159/Brera/Spider range. Pininfarina’s will be a roadster, Bertone’s a coupe and ItalDesign’s a sedan. PF has already released a sketch of its design, but if you thought that was a tease, Bertone’s (pictured above) gives even less away.
Bertone has been in flux these past few years, caught in the middle of a legal battle between members of the family. Alfa Romeo’s parent company, Fiat, recently acquired the old manufacturing facility, but left Stile Bertone independent. It’s that design studio – headed until recently by one Jason Castriota and responsible for such designs as the Alfa 8C-based B.A.T. 11 and the Corvette ZR1-based Mantide – that will be bringing out the concept.
Other than the novel take on the classic Alfa grille shape, expanded outwards to accommodate LED headlamps, there’s not much else to tell, but we can’t wait to see what Italy’s finest have to offer when we get to Geneva’s Palexpo.

Few are using social media as Incredible Technologies, a coin-operated video game manufacturer in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
IT is the creator of Golden Tee Golf, the #1 bar room video game in the world.
Golden Tee’s key demographic is a fun-loving guy who enjoys socializing in pubs and spending time online.
IT was among the first to use tools like Facebook, Twitter and blogs to enhance its online presence.
IT is using social media to enhance the customer’s experience by actually embedding it into the heart of its flagship product, an 18-hole video golf game found in over 10,000 bars worldwide.
Anyone who’s been in a bar in the last 20 years knows Golden Tee. While 5,000,000 people play Golden Tee, its bread and butter are the half-million diehards who play every week.
Like serious competitors of any game, these players love regaling each other with tales of their greatest shots.
IT’s game development team figured out a way to bring their players’ words to life. Players not only record their legendary shots for all posterity, but they also share them online, courtesy of YouTube.
If one is playing Golden Tee and hits a virtual hole-in-one, he’s invited to upload the “Great Shot” to YouTube, free of charge. Within five minutes, the replay is posted online.
As soon as it’s posted, IT will shoot the player an email with a link to the video. If he has a smart phone, he can watch the replay in the bar where he just made the shot. It’s instant gratification (in HD, of course).
In just one year, nearly 70,000 Great Shots have been uploaded. They’ve been viewed over 1.2 million times. It’s a winning experience for players and for IT, as their online branding is experiencing exponential growth.
Also, players can post the video on their Facebook page. Since 80% of Golden Tee players are also Facebook users, IT sees opportunity in developing programs that interface with Facebook.
Another of IT’s goals for using social media was to build its online presence and since it’s done so, Web site traffic has doubled.
When Honda launched the 2010 Insight Hybrid last year, it expected to sell well over 200,000 units. However, the Japanese automaker now expects to miss that sales target after the Insight has been shunned in favor of the 2010 Toyota Prius by U.S. drivers.
Selling 200,000 Insights worldwide in the first year “looks tough,” Executive Vice President Koichi Kondo. “I think we compromised too much on size in pursuing fuel efficiency” for the North American market, he said.
Kondo said that the Insight is “too small” and that there isn’t enough room for U.S. customers in the back seat.
The Toyota Prius outsold the Insight 7-to-1 in the U.S. in the last quarter of 2009. Honda sold 130,445 Insights worldwide as of Dec. 31.
Last week, we wrote about how Vision Media TV was suing 800notes.com over comments made by users on the way Vision Media TV does business — a business method that has been criticized in the pages of the NY Times among others. Of course, 800notes has a clear Section 230 defense, but Vision Media is trying to get around that. Our post was based on a post by Paul Alan Levy, from Public Citizen, who is helping 800Notes in its defense. He’s also now let us know that Vision Media is upset about his own discussion of the lawsuit and that it has asked the court for an injunction barring Levy from posting documents from the case on his blog or discussing them — despite the fact that the filings he posted were all public.
Vision Media seems to be claiming that just posting these public documents is defamatory, which seems quite odd. Also odd is that Vision Media claims that all this publicity might hurt Hugh Downs most of all. Downs, the former host of 20/20, apparently works with Vision Media and is part of the enticement to companies in trying to get them to pay to be on a Vision Media video program. But, again, if Vision Media has done nothing wrong, then it’s hard to see how a discussion of the lawsuit would harm its own reputation, or that of Downs. Yet, using Downs’ name in support of an attempt to silence a blog post would seem more likely to harm Downs’ reputation than anything that Levy did in his own post.
David Jassy, a rapper and record producer from Sweden, was found guilty Monday of second-degree murder in the death of a pedestrian he was accused of assaulting in a fit of road rage.
He faces 15 years to life at a sentencing next month.
Witnesses said Jassy, 35, punched, kicked and then ran over John Osnes, a 55-year-old jazz pianist, during the November 2008 incident. Osnes, who did not own a car and was an advocate for pedestrian rights, had struck with his hands the front of Jassy’s SUV after it edged into a Hollywood crosswalk.
Osnes was pronounced dead at a hospital, and Jassy was arrested later that day after investigators traced the license of his rented vehicle. Jassy’s lawyer argued in court papers that Osnes’ actions were more aggressive than police officers had reported, and sought to reduce his bail from $1 million to between $100,000 and $250,000.
Judge Monica Bachner denied the request for reduced bail, noting that Jassy’s Swedish citizenship made him a flight risk, as did his foreign family ties, which include an 11-year-old son in Sweden, a brother in Italy and other relatives in Gambia.

They look basically the same, except that last year the worst year for the deficit was supposed to be last year and this year it’s supposed to be this year. And so on. If you go back farther, moreover, to the George W. Bush years, you find that he, too, forever told us that prosperity was just around the corner.
With a scroll of your mouse, you can go through each forecast from 2001, which looked like this…
to 2009, which looked like this:
And you can also read David’s excellent tale of our budget collapse, which begins like this:
There are two basic truths about the enormous deficits that the federal government will run in the coming years.
The first is that President Obama’s agenda, ambitious as it may be, is responsible for only a sliver of the deficits, despite what many of his Republican critics are saying. The second is that Mr. Obama does not have a realistic plan for eliminating the deficit, despite what his advisers have suggested.
Activist-scientists cooked the books to foster alarm
I can’t recall the wheels coming off the bus of any expert-driven hysteria as fast or as completely as they are now coming off the global-warming scare.
I suppose they must have came off faster from Y2K. At 12:00:01 AM on Jan. 1, 2000, when airliners didn’t fall from the sky and power plants didn’t shut down spontaneously or computers didn’t freeze up all over the world, the air came out of the Y2K scare instantly. Billions had been spent on preventing that disaster-that-never-was up until midnight on the final day of 1999, then almost not a penny afterwards.
That is faster than the wheels are coming off the climate-change bus. But AGW — anthropogenic global warming — is a very close second.
News of the manipulations, distortions and frauds perpetrated to advance and preserve the environmentalists’ cause celebre are so numerous and coming so fast, it’s hard to keep up.
A North Aurora man with a history of drunken-driving was charged Monday with his fourth DUI, police said.
Jaime Llanos, 41, of the 200 block of Laurel Drive, was stopped at 11:06 p.m. Sunday after running a red light at Route 56 and Mitchell Road in North Aurora, according to police.
Llanos was charged with three felony counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said, because it was his fourth DUI arrest and he had no driver’s license or insurance.
He also was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane use, driving in the wrong lane, failure to wear a seat belt, improper use of a turn signal and disobeying a traffic control device, said Lt. Scott Buziecki.
Two of Llanos’ prior DUI convictions happened in Kane County, according to court records. Details of the third weren’t immediately available.
He received 18 months of court supervision and alcohol treatment in 1988 after leaving the scene of a DUI crash in Montgomery, and 12 months of court supervision, alcohol treatment and nine days in the Kane County jail after a DUI in North Aurora in 1996, records show.
Llanos, whose next court date is Feb. 16, was being held in the county jail Monday on a $30,000 bond.
There was no attorney listed for him in court records.

The Infiniti FX Limited Edition in more detail
Exterior styling
With its breathtaking combination of sports car proportions and muscular SUV stance, the FX is an unmistakable performance luxury crossover. The FX Limited Edition accentuates these unique design qualities with a choice of standard Black Obsidian ‘Scratch Guard’ paint or optional Moonlight White pearl metallic, together with dark smoked headlight surrounds that give the FX Limited Edition a more distinctive ‘face’.
Further drama comes courtesy of the FX Limited Edition’s ‘Turbine’ design alloys wheels, so called because the spokes of the wheels are shaped in such a way as aid the flow of cooling air to the sports brakes. Uniquely finished in dark graphite grey – together with the distinctive ‘double-wave’ radiator grille, air vents and roof rails – they are fitted with 265/45 R21W tyres and fill the wheel arches to perfection.
Interior environment
The Infiniti philosophy of Modern Luxury is exemplified in the FX Limited Edition’s stylish and comprehensively appointed interior. From the supple Graphite leather upholstery complete with quilted stitching for the seats, doors and dashboard, to the opulent Alcantara® trimmed headlining and roof pillars and wool carpets, only the finest natural materials are used. Illuminated ‘Infiniti’ door entry guards are also unique to the FX Limited Edition.
The extensive use of genuine carbon fibre across the dashboard, centre console and door panels provides an appropriately high-tech contrast to the soft-touch natural materials and provides a fitting backdrop to the FX Limited Edition’s standard Connectiviti+ infotainment system. Employing the very latest Hard Disk Drive (HDD) technology it features a fully integrated satellite navigation system with 42-country, Europewide coverage and, in a world-first collaboration with Michelin Green Guide, a database of some 22,000 addresses, which enables the location and booking of leading hotels and restaurants while on the move.
The Connectiviti+ multi-media system also includes a powerful 11-speaker Bose® Premium Sound System, a 10GB direct record Music Box that can store up to 300 albums’ worth of your favourite music, plus a DVD player, USB port for MP3 players and Bluetooth hands-free mobile phone connectivity.

Also included is startling performance that sees the V8 powered Limited Edition speeding to 62mph in just 5.8 seconds with the V6 version only a second behind. Traction in all weathers is assured by intelligently controlled, all-wheel drive.
No wonder given this specification that Infiniti maintains it has redefined rarity with the FX Limited Edition.

Oprah’s go-to guy for all things interior design is now the star of his own syndicated television talk show in cooperation with the Queen of Talks Harpo Productions.
The Nate Berkus Show is a go for a launch on NBC this fall, The Hollywood Reporter said Monday. NBC Universal and Sony Television reached a deal late Friday night to bring the show to NBC stations across the nation later this year, according to the trade paper.
Nate rose to fame in 2003, when he first became a regular guest on The Oprah Show. Dr. Phil, Rachael Ray, and Dr. Oz have all found success in daytime television after their appearances on Oprah.
Nate’s new gig reportedly spelled disaster for domestic goddess Martha Stewart. Reports have surfaced online that Nate’s new show bumped Martha’s departing daytime series from its slot on NBC. On Monday, The New York Post reported that a deal to bring the Oprah-endorsed interior decorator to the network, helped bring about the end of The Martha Stewart Show, which had been syndicated by NBC. Last week, The High Priestess of Homemaking announced that she is taking The Martha Stewart Show to the Hallmark Channel in Sept.
HADDONFIELD, N.J. — A traffic reporter in a small plane put himself in the thick of a rush-hour tie-up when his aircraft had to make an emergency landing Monday on the New Jersey Turnpike.
It was a little before 7 a.m., before the morning rush in the Philadelphia suburbs gets going, when a low oil pressure indicator came on in the Cessna owned by Wilmington, Del.-based Out of the Blue, Inc.
The pilot, flying with traffic reporter Mike Lankford for Metro Networks, which was providing traffic reports for a number of TV and radio stations, put the plane down on the northbound lanes of the turnpike in Cherry Hill about two miles south of Exit 4.
“This was pretty much a non-incident in terms of what the outcome was like,” said New Jersey Turnpike Authority spokesman Joseph Orlando.
“The plane landed, he taxied it over into the shoulder. We can’t even get motorists to do that when they break down.”
Authorities have not identified the pilot or passenger, but have said that neither was injured.
There was a traffic backup of about a mile and a half in each direction. Orlando said that was due mostly to rubbernecking.
“For the first time in 8 years, I can probably say you had a good reason to stop and look,” Orlando said.
The Federal Aviation Administration was starting an investigation.
The plane, a Cessna 152 built in 1981, was loaded onto a truck and taken to a New Jersey Turnpike Authority maintenance yard near Exit 5.
