  • Jets beat Chargers to reach AFC title game

jetsgreene.jpgSAN DIEGO — New York is halfway toward that Super Bowl parade promised by coach Rex Ryan after rookies Mark Sanchez and Shonn Greene led the Jets to a stunning 17-14 upset of the San Diego Chargers in the divisional playoffs.

Sanchez threw a go-ahead, 2-yard touchdown pass to tight end Dustin Keller three plays into the fourth quarter, then Greene gave the Jets some breathing room with a 53-yard scoring run on their next possession.

The upstart Jets (11-7), who have won seven of their last eight games, advanced to the AFC championship game at top-seeded Indianapolis next Sunday.

The Chargers (13-4) not only saw their 11-game winning streak end, but suffered yet another playoff pratfall after earning the AFC’s No. 2 seed.

  • Howard Ruff: Gold’s Great, But Silver And Uranium Are Where It’s At

    howard ruff gold

In an interview with The Gold Report posted at MineWeb, well-known gold bull Howard Ruff makes an argument for silver:

TGR: You recommend buying gold bullion and coins. How about silver?

HR: I like silver a lot better than gold. I think you will make two or three times more money in silver than gold.

TGR: Is that because of the price today or is it a general phenomenon?

HR: It’s general. The first time I recommended gold and silver was back in the ’70s, and we made twice or three times more money in silver than in gold. I want people to buy silver for several reasons. When people start trying to beat inflation by investing in precious metals, it’s a lot easier to buy silver because it’s a lot cheaper. The average investor can buy some of that rather than buying gold. Also, because gold is so much more expensive, it doesn’t have a lot of utility. It’s like buying $1,000 bills. So as a hedge against inflation, I think people are a lot better off in silver.

TGR: Do you follow the gold/silver ratio?

HR: I follow it as it’s an important measurement of relative money, but I am basing my decisions on history, and history tells me that silver will outperform gold. That may not be the case from day to day or over a particular short time period, but that’s where the money will be made over the long haul.

And, as many precious metal investors do, he also likes mining, particularly uranium:

TGR: Is it true that you’re also somewhat enthusiastic about uranium?

HR: I am very much. Uranium mining interests me because there’s going to be demand. There are enough nuclear plants either under construction or on the drawing boards that there’s only half enough uranium above ground to service their needs. Again, the most conservative uranium investment will be the big producers, followed by the development companies that have found some uranium and are making deals with companies to finance their operations, followed-again-by the exploration companies and then the holes in the ground surrounded by liars.

  • PCR Workstation and UV Sterilisation Cabinet

When undertaking PCR reactions it is important to protect against contamination by DNA from any source. The PCR cabinet, reagents and equipment must be thoroughly decontaminated prior to a PCR process.

UV irradiation is an efficient steriliser, breaking down DNA sequences so that replication cannot occur in a subsequent amplification process. The necessary UV exposure times vary from as little as 5 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes.

UV is effectively utilised in both the Bigneat UV Sterilisation Cabinet and the Bigneat PCR Workstation. The PCR Workstation additionally protects against contamination by bathing the PCR apparatus in sterile air and limiting risk of contamination from the operator’s arms, or from any equipment bought into the otherwise sterile environment. A positive pressure ensures that there is no ingress of airborne contaminants from the surrounding laboratory environment.

    Dados:

    * Área Territorial (2003): 410,56 hectares
    * Total de população (2000): 38.334 habitantes
    * Total de domicílios (2000): 13.209

    Fonte:Wikipedia.

    ————————————————————————–

    Quote:

    História do Bairro

    Notícias do Bairro:

O palácio, atual Museu Nacional, fora erguido 5 anos antes.

    Pedro Vieira, Jornal do Brasil

Aguardem…:soon:

  • Sanwa’s ultra-cheap pico projector available, probably worth the money

We’re kind of fans of pico projectors around here, even if finding a way to justify spending big cash on them is occasionally a little hard. Sanwa’s just unleashed a cheap little pico that may just be worth the money. There’s nothing terribly standout about the Sanwa 400 PRJ-001 — a Himax LCoS projector with a 640 x 480 resolution, USB connectivity and the little guy weighs in at only 85 grams. The best part of the story here, is of course, the price — for $119, well, maybe we’ll grab two. We can’t be sure it’s the cheapest pocket projector in the history of micro projecting, but it’s pretty close. Hit up the source link to buy one for yourself.
