Vivid Entertainment — the adult film purveyor that brought porn junkies Kim Kardashian X-rated and uncensored — is working to authenticate a scandalous sex tape that allegedly features philandering sportsman Tiger Woods. According to Vivid boss Steve Hirsch, an unidentified woman is presently shopping a skin flick of the shamed golf star that was shot approximately two years ago.

The organisers said the expo was witnessing the largest-ever overseas participation with contingents from Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Taiwan and Britain.
This time, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers and other variety of automobile accessories are also on display. Japan’s Toyota is displaying the Etios, especially designed for India, with German carmaker Volkswagen showcasing its much-awaited super-mini Polo.
Others like the US-based carmaker General Motors had added a radically different looking car named Beat to its existing line up of compacts here. Honda, too, is unveiling a new model.
Other displays at the event include a wide range of new and locally designed and developed auto components. Many of these component designs have been patented in the country as well as overseas.
The auto sector is betting big on the event as makers of luxury cars are increasingly looking at making India a sourcing hub for components, besides using more local components in cars for the domestic market.
“Auto Expo will act as a platform for both Indian and foreign business visitors where they will have ample opportunity to see products on display as well interact with officials of component companies at the venue,” ACMA president Jayant Davar said.

Five thousand members of the dating site BeautifulPeople.com have been cut because they gained weight over the holidays. The site, which we reviewed back in November, caters exclusively to good looking people.
All applicants to the site have to undergo voting by the current membership before being accepted. If you’re not hot enough, you don’t get in.
Now, the site has taken steps against existing members who have posted photos of themselves celebrating Christmas and New Years revealing they had put on the pounds. These festive fatties now have to get voted on by the membership as a whole if they are to remain on the site.
Most of the expelled members came from the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.

The fertility doctor who helped “Octomom” Nadya Suleman conceive the world’s longest living set of octuplets has been accused of “gross negligence” by the State Medical Board.
Suleman, 34 — an unemployed mother of six –became a tabloid darling last January 26 when she successfully gave birth to octuplets in Califonia. Under guidelines issued by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), a woman Suleman’s age should have no more than two embryos implanted.
According to the Medical Board of California, Dr Michael Kamrava acted beyond the reasonable judgment of a treating physician by repeatedly providing fertility treatments to a patient who was only identified by the initials “N.S.” in the documents. The board claims Dr Kamrava’s “failure to recognize that [the patient’s] behavior was outside the norm and that her conduct was placing her offspring at risk for potential harm.”
The board is recommending that Dr Kamrava’s Doctor’s Physician and Surgeon’s license be revoked or suspended.
A study conducted by odbEdge, the creator of Cellcontrol, revealed some worrying conclusions: 72 percent of the people who took part in the survey said that they will keep using their mobile phones while driving despite the upcoming laws which will ban this activity.
The survey was conducted on 100 people, out of which 88 percent admitted to using their cell phone to text, email, surf the Web or have a conversation in the past 12-months.

Suzuki unveiled at Auto Expo 2010 its new MPV concept, the so-called rIII concept that is likely to come in production version in a few years. Handlers for former American Idol Jordin Sparks are concerned about a “creepy” fan who has reportedly become obsessed with the “Battlefield” singer.
“I was in London when that happened to Leona Lewis. What’s wrong with people? I’e never been physically harmed but there is one guy we’re suspicious of. I think he has issues,” Jordin told Britain’s Metro this week. “He’s proposed marriage to me in letters several times and he’s sent me a cell phone to call him on. It was very creepy. My security people are keeping their eyes open.”
TVs with Internet connectivity are nothing new, but this is pretty cool: As the world’s first TV makers, Panasonic and LG are cooperating with Skype to incorporate the software, which will make it possible to video chat in 720p HD quality, into TVs.
According to a Japanese media report [registration required, paid subscription], Americans will be able to buy the Pansasonic TVs first (as early as this spring), followed by Japanese and Europeans in the summer. Skype itself, however, speaks of a release in mid-2010 for both the LG and Panasonic TVs.
The Skype function, for which the report mentioned above says buyers have to pay “hundreds of dollars” more than for identical TVs without it, will be available in special VIERA models (the picture shows one Panasonic is currently selling in the US) and LG’s 26 LCD and plasma HDTVs with NetCast Entertainment Access.
Skype says the features include:
* Free Skype-to-Skype voice and video calls
* Calls to landline or mobile phones at Skype’s low rates
* The option to receive inbound calls via a user’s online Skype number
* Skype voicemail, if it is set up
* Being invited to participate in voice conference calls with up to 24 other parties
* Support for up to 720p HD video calls, depending on the availability of high-speed broadband and a HD webcam
The TVs will feature a microphone and a built-in video camera, which – according to Skype – can pick up sound and video from a couch-distance. Skype has set up a dedicated website for those TVs for more information (but the link is currently dead).

Cloud computing is a hot term of 2009, though it’s one of the most abused as well. As a concept, cloud computing doesn’t have a clear definition yet and its meaning has evolved from its initial designation to encompass almost every form of web-based product. Even so, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is now starting an investigation on the privacy and security issues posed by the new tools and services which it labels as ‘cloud computing’.
The upcoming investigation was revealed in a filling with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) uncovered by The Hill. In the filing, the FTC says it recognizes the advantages of cloud computing but is concerned by some issues it poses. “However, the storage of data on remote computers may also raise privacy and security concerns for consumers,” David Vladeck, the head of the FTC’s Consumer Protection Bureau, wrote.
“For example, the ability of cloud computing services to collect and centrally store increasing amounts of consumer data, combined with the ease with which such centrally stored data may be shared with others, create a risk that larger amounts of data may be used by entities not originally intended or understood by consumers,” the filing says.

The Android platform has grown exponentially since mid-2009, but December’s stats show a particular factor that might help catapult the platform to greater heights of user adoption.
In figures just released from mobile advertising company AdMob, the Droid singlehandedly boosted calls to their network by nearly 300 million requests while stats for HTC Magic devices remained static and those for HTC’s Dream model actually decreased. In terms of consumer use of the network and acceleration of device popularity, it seems we have a winner.

Having been compared extensively with the iPhone, the Droid stands up solidly even under extensive scrutiny. And in terms of 3G network access, we’ve personally seen fewer issues than with any other mobile carrier we’ve tried to date. (Note: I’m a Droid owner and a former iPhone user. I’ve also suffered through my share of BlackBerries, Palms and their ilk.) If any device is to become the iPhone killer, it will be the Droid or something very close to it (here’s looking at you, Nexus One).
AdMob’s numbers show that requests from all Android-driven devices increased by 97 percent between October to December in 2009, totaling more than 1 billion requests in December alone.
The open platform has also seen a refreshing diversity of devices and manufacturers. AdMob shows that in December, 56 percent of requests were from HTC devices, 39 percent were from Motorola devices and 5 percent were manufactured by from Samsung. And in December, seven devices generated more than three percent of requests each: the Motorola Droid, HTC Dream, HTC Magic, HTC Hero, Motorola CLIQ, HTC Droid Eris and the Samsung Moment. This stat represents a significant increase from just three devices in October (HTC Dream, HTC Magic, and HTC Hero).
Already, the Motorola Droid is the leading Android device on AdMob’s radar, generating a third of all the network’s requests in December. Released just under two months ago, it’s already the top-selling Android device on the market, a title it’s held since a scant fortnight after its launch.
Granted, AdMob’s metrics show a small slice of mobile device usage. But they’ve consistently been reliable in showing what mobile users use and need and in predicting trends. We are internally excited about what Android-powered devices will do in the market in the months to come, and I am personally quite optimistic about Droid adoption specifically.
