  • Pentagon: If You Don’t Let The US Gov’t Spy On Your Network, You Place American Lives At Risk

The whole “cyberterorrism” fear mongering is being taken to even more extreme levels. At the Strategic Command Cyber Symposium, William Lynn III, the deputy defense secretary apparently told the audience that companies who operate critical infrastructure need to let the US install monitoring equipment or it puts everyone at risk. The NSA has apparently developed a monitoring system called Einstein (I wonder if they paid the license fee), and want to let companies “opt-in” to installing the gov’t’s system on their own systems, or face the “wild west” and put everyone at risk. This sounds like blatant fear mongering to let the government tap into all sorts of private infrastructure systems. After all, the government has shown, time and time again, that once it gets access to information, it doesn’t take those whole “oversight” or “privacy rights” issues particularly seriously.

  • 2011 version of QX56 expected to boost model’s sales

    2011 Infiniti QX56

Infiniti is counting big on its 2011 version of the QX56 to increase sales for the model, which has been suffering along with the rest of the segment as buyers move towards more fuel-efficient and smaller options. However, with more power and more fuel-efficiency, the 2011 QX56 is expected to recapture some of the full-size large SUV market.

“We will have months when we sell 800 to 900 of these,” Ben Poore, Infiniti’s vice president in charge of sales and marketing, told Edmunds.

Click here to get prices on the 2011 Infiniti QX56.

That brings Poore’s predictions to annual sales of as high as 10,800 units for the 2011 QX56. Sales of the outgoing model averaged at 1,226 units a month and totaled 14,715 in 2005, making that its record sales year. However, last year sales for the QX56 were the model’s worst, averaging 536 units a month with year-long sales totaling 6,440 units.

It seems like there may be some sun shining on the QX56 in 2010 because sales are averaging at 770 a month.

Refresher: The 2011 Infiniti QX56 is powered by a 5.6L direct injected V8 making 400-hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission, which helps add a 10 percent gain in fuel-economy. The 2011 QX56 can handle towing of up to a 8,500-pound towing capacity.

  • The 1-2-3-4 Formula for Unleashing Your Inner Grok

This is a guest post from Matt Garland of Healthy Lifestyle Design.

geyser2Do you have what it takes to unleash your inner Grok?

Everyone does. It’s inherent in our biology. And yet many don’t, not because of physical obstacles but mental ones. Such barriers manifest as false and misguided perceptions of Primal living’s complexity, difficulty, and restriction. Alas, these devilish traps inhibit many would-be Groks from realizing their full potential.

So, how do you evade these ensnarements and unleash your inner Grok?

You stop worrying about “how” you’ll live Primal and start thinking about “why” you should.

The “why” is essential. If you don’t know why you should adopt Primal living then you never will. How come? Because the “why” gives meaning to what you do. And when you have meaning you have the strength and resolve to succeed.

This simple 1-2-3-4 forumula will guide you to “why” Primal living is right for you. Have fun with it and get ready to unleash your inner Grok!

    1. What do I have to lose?

People fear what they don’t understand. And I believe it’s safe to say that many don’t understand the reasons, science, benefits, and intentions of Primal living in the modern world. Hence, your inner Grok will remain scared and buried within under a blanket of misguided beliefs.

This is tragic because much of what conventional wisdom teaches you about Primal living is in fact untrue. Curiosity isn’t enough to overcome this insidious inertia. To unleash your inner Grok and fully reap the bounty of Primal living you must first define your fears.

This may sound like psychologist-talk and that may be true. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. And how it works is by putting your fears into blunt perspective. Fears are often grossly overstated and over-dramatized. Bringing them down to earth is a powerful means of controlling your fears – thereby not letting them control you.

So, what are your fears of living Primal? And what do you have to lose if you try?

Let me tell you what you WON’T lose:

    • You won’t lose your “health” to hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity, etc.
    • You won’t lose your family
    • You won’t lose your personal relationships
    • You won’t lose your job
    • You won’t lose your mind
    • You won’t lose your freedom
    • You won’t lose your self-identity or self-confidence
    • And you definitely won’t lose your life

Put plainly, there aren’t any substantive, decisive, permanent, or dangerous reasons to not try out the Primal living philosophy.

Once you see this, acknowledge this, and believe this you will unleash previously unknown and untapped wells of curiosity, motivation, and determination for greatness of health and life.

    2. What do I have to gain?

You’ve defined your Primal living worst-case-scenarios. You’ve discovered that they aren’t the apocalyptic crises propagandized by many. In fact, the costs are meager, even trivial in many cases.

But lose-framing alone won’t do the job. You must define all that you can gain from trying the Primal living lifestyle. Take this seriously because understanding benefits is a much greater force for inspiration and courage than merely acknowledging the low costs.

So, what all can you gain from trying to live Primal?

Think rationally but think big! Grok certainly did. Here are some ideas to get you started:

    • I’ll have real-world experience to evaluate the Primal living philosophy on its merits
    • I’ll become more self-confident by allowing myself to try something new to improve my health and life
    • I’ll cultivate more energy and focus as I ween off of energy-draining processed foods
    • I’ll gain more peace-of-mind and personal freedom from Primal living’s simplicity
    • I’ll feel better as I allow my body to perform activities and functions that it was built to do
    • I’ll reclaim my right to be the full authority of my personal health and happiness
    • I’ll have fun trying new foods and new activities as well as by building new social relations that share the Primal living ideals
    • I’ll develop much improved wellness from elevated quality of sleep, nutrition, relaxation, etc

Feel free to pause your analysis here and compare your lose-list with your gain-list. The dichotomy is surely profound – illustrating the incredible ROI of a Primal lifestyle.

Okay, break over. Time to carry on!

    3. What do my friends and family have to lose and gain?

Humans do not live in isolation. We are social creatures. This relationship, network-building skill is a defining characteristic of our species responsible largely for our survival and evolution.

Grok knew this well. No member of the tribe was more important that the tribe itself.

Fully understanding this axiom is the next powerful means of unleashing your inner Grok because you’ll see that your choice to live Primal won’t only empower yourself but your tribe as well.

So ask your family members and dear friends about their thoughts on Primal living. Share your lose-versus-gain analysis. Describe your beliefs in unleashing the power of your true Grok.

And compliment the feedback you collect with your own thoughts about how your friends and family will benefit from a Primal you. Maybe you’ll determinate that:

    • My friends and family will have a stronger, healthier, more energized me to be around
    • My friends and family can learn from my learnings about Primal living
    • My friends and family will gain more respect for me as I confidently pursue greater health
    • My friends and family will become inspired by my example and want to try Primal living too
    • My friends and family will better understand me and my beliefs in living a remarkable life

Such determinations are deeply personal to you. Make them meaningful and make them count.

And don’t be shy. Some won’t understand. Others won’t agree. That’s okay. Be respectful to all opinions but firm in yours. And always remember, “the sure path to failure and misery is trying to please everybody.” – Tim Ferriss

    4. Can I take it for a test drive?

Hopefully by now you’ve seen the logic and benefit to Primal living and are ready to try. If so, let’s get to it!

But if you’re not, here’s the final step in unleashing your inner Grok – just TRY it!

Choosing to try Primal living is not a permanent, all-binding decision. There is no fine-print to be weary of. You’re in control, remember? So relax and simply take Primal living for a test drive.

Evaluate your progress mentally, physically, and emotionally after a few weeks. Like what you see and feel? Awesome! Keep going! Don’t like what you see and feel? Then pause and re-evaluate. Or even stop if you so choose. The choice is yours.

But do yourself right and give your Primal living trial a fair go. One week isn’t adequate enough. Aim for two. Nothing happens (positive or negative) overnight.

And lastly, you need not go “all-in” on Primal living at the start. Radical lifestyle changes have a much higher degree of failure. So it’s perfectly acceptable (even encouraged) to start slow. Adopt a few of the Primal lifestyle elements to begin with. Evolve from there.

    What do you think?

Why is Primal living important and meaningful for you?

What obstacles have you evaded on your Primal lifestyle journey?

What advice would you give those just starting to unleash their inner Groks?

Please share your thoughts in the comments because all Groks (young and wise) will benefit!

The Importance of the 12 B Vitamin

The 12 b vitamin is one of the b vitamins that are essential to maintain a healthy body. Otherwise known as Cobalamin, the 12b vitamin is needed for the processes to convert the carbohydrates, fats and proteins from food into energy. 12 b also, more importantly, helps keep the red blood cells healthy and therefore prevent heart disease as well as keeping the immune system functioning at its maximum level. In addition, 12 b is used to create the protective covering of all nerve cells in the body.

The most important function of 12 b is to form healthy red blood cells. However, all cells need 12 b to keep them healthy. It is the white blood cells, amongst others, that need 12 b to help ensure that the immune system functioning properly. All of the nerve cells in the body also need 12 b to form their protective fatty layer. This is essential for all of the nerves but is especially so for those in the brain. If there is not sufficient 12 b to create this protective layer then the brain will not be functioning properly.

Interestingly, the amount of 12 b that the body needs is relatively small but is needed on a regular basis. However, 12 b on its own is not enough as the body cannot absorb it easily. To help the body absorb 12 b the stomach produces intrinsic factor which enables more of the 12 b to be absorbed. 12 b is only found in animal foods such as liver, eggs, fish and meat but most people consume far more than their recommended daily amount of 12 b. This is not a problem as the body can only absorb about half of the 12 b that is consumed. It is also worth noting that the body can recycle the 12 b which cuts down on the impact of a 12 b deficiency. However, strict vegetarians or vegans are likely to require 12 b supplements if they do not eat any animal products that contain 12 b.

If the body does not have enough 12 b then anaemia is the most obvious symptom. Obviously, this is due to the fact that there is not enough 12 b to make healthy red blood cells. Anaemia can also be caused by the body not creating enough intrinsic factor to help absorb the 12 b that is available in the food consumed. The body tends to makes less intrinsic factor once a person reaches 50 and this will lead to less 12 b being absorbed and supplements of 12 b may be required. Kids are also at risk from anaemia because they may not eat the food that contain 12 b. Pregnant women need more 12 b because the baby is absorbing 12 b during the pregnancy to grow properly.

  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Worst Movie of the Year?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is considered as one of the most boring film this year. Said to be a lazy affair with zero character development, the film is also the worst big budget scripts this year.

Reviews on sites play on the film as they say that someone that is watching the movie should be caffeineted in order not to sleep. Someone could imagine a movie that all the time, every character talks and over-explains  what they are doing and why. Every line is either explaining a character’s motives or desires. It’s not that the film is over complicated, but the viewers would eventually going to lack their interest.

The film gets more boring halfway through. The script goes worse as there are no memorable lines or any character development piece in the entire piece and the script’s vague attempts at commentary of the modern war (false information leading to an attack) are so thin that they are equal to being useless.

The film is loosely-based on the video game series Prince of Persia.

    Characters:

Jake Gyllenhaal as Dustan, an orphan boy who is taken in by a benevolent king.

    Ronald Pickup as the King.

    Gemma Arterton as the Princess.

Alfred Molina as a con man.

    Ben Kingsley as Dustan’s uncle.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) has announced that nearly a dozen and a half states are now filing versions of Arizona’s S.B. 1070 law, designed to help local police enforce America’s existing immigration laws.

Various polls have indicated that close to 75 percent of the U.S. population supports Arizona’s move and wants their own states to do the same.

“Our national network of activists has been working overtime trying to help the state of Arizona and the brave Arizonans who have passed this bill,” said William Gheen, president of the activist group. “Arizona no longer stands alone, and we have now documented state lawmakers filing, or announcing they will file, versions of the Arizonan bill in 17 states. We will not stop until all states are protected from invasion as required by the U.S. Constitution.”

    Immigration Revolution Brewing 140410banner4

ALIPAC has documented that the following 17 states are taking a page out of Arizona’s book in response to citizen pressure: Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Utah.

Gheen, who is a former campaign consultant, legislative assistant, state lobbyist and assistant sergeant-at-arms staffer in North Carolina, has turned his local experiences into a political battle plan.

He said, “The federal government has been hijacked by special interests that are neglectful of their duties and even hostile toward the rightful citizens of America. It is incumbent upon our states to protect American lives, property, jobs, wages, security and health, when the Executive Branch fails to honor its constitutional responsibility to do so by enforcing our existing border and immigration laws.”

    Via Prison Planet.com » Commentary

    Jim Tucker
    American Free Press
    Friday, May 28, 2010

Bilderberg-controlled news outlets in Europe and the Western Hemisphere are conditioning the public to accept two of the super-secret elite’s major goals in advance of its meeting June 4-7 in Sitges, Spain: a U.S. attack on Iran and a financial bailout of Greece and other European Union (EU) countries.

But even before the Bilderberg group gathered behind the sealed-off, guarded Dolce Hotel in Sitges, a resort community 12 miles from Barcelona, resistance to throwing more tax dollars at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to bail out Europe sprang up in Congress.

Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) introduced legislation to require the Treasury Department to oppose further IMF “loans” to stricken European countries until all EU members are in compliance with their own constitutional limits on debt—and very few of them are. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) introduced companion legislation in the Senate.

Bilderberg Cabal Pushes Agenda Before Meeting in Sitges, Spain 150410banner1

Just the threat of the legislation prompted Senate Democratic leaders to agree to an amendment to financial legislation that would prohibit the United States from participating in bailouts that are unlikely to be repaid. It requires the IMF to certify to the Treasury Department that it expects its loans to Europe to be repaid. It passed 94-0.

“America isn’t even close to getting our own fiscal house in order, and this is the worst time to ask taxpayers to borrow more from China to bail out foreign nations,” DeMint said.

The Bilderberg-controlled Washington Post called for making the IMF a “global overseer” on May 20. Bilderberg is exploiting the financial crisis in Greece and other EU countries to advance efforts to make the IMF a world Treasury Department under the UN.

“It may take a global agency like the IMF” to address the problem, The Post said, attributing the view to Liliana Rojas-Suarez, a senior fellow at the Center for Global Development.

  • Ron Paul Defends Rand Against Concerted Corporate Media Attack

    Via Prison Planet.com » Commentary

    RandPaul2010.com
    Friday, May 28, 2010

    Dear Friend,

It sure didn’t take long for the entire establishment to attack my son Rand in the days after he won the Kentucky Senate primary.

As I left Kentucky last week, I was both happy for Rand and anxious for what I knew would be coming at him soon. But it came sooner than even I feared.

A mainstream media network has gone into all-out warfare against Rand, beginning with a full 24 hours of repeating outright lies by Rand’s Democrat opponent.

It’s funny. Rand’s opponent’s ideas are anti-freedom. They’re pro Big Government. They’re pro-welfare state, and will stand lock-step with the Obama agenda. And if they are the issue, he can’t beat Rand in Kentucky. So he’s trying to make sure this race is on a different playing field.

Rand needs to fight back. Some of it will be now, some will be in the coming months. But he needs your help to do it.

Ron Paul Defends Rand Against Concerted Corporate Media Attack 260310banner2

I know it seems like he won his primary by a lot, and it certainly was a great achievement. But having done this many times before, I urged him to take nothing for granted, and to run like he was 10 points behind. He did just that, and it was an amazing victory to watch! I was very proud of him and his team.

And thanks to you, he had the funds to do everything he needed to do. But he wisely used those funds in the primary, and has only a small amount left in his campaign treasury as we begin the general election.

And now he’s under all-out attack.

I hope you’ll help him out the way you did in the primary. We can’t count on others to help. Sure, he’ll have a few more friends now. But we need that to be in ADDITION to what our movement can give him. We can’t rest now, this is one of the biggest opportunities for a liberty minded candidate in a long time.

Please consider helping Rand today, and as often as you can throughout the general election. He’s going to need to raise three of four times what he raised in the primary to compete with the national special interests that will pour money into Kentucky to stop him.

These early attacks prove one thing for sure: The establishment and the powers that be in Washington are scared to death of a Senator Rand Paul. And they should be.

Now let’s start helping him get there to shake up the Senate!

    Please donate today at www.RandPaul2010.com.

  • Supreme Court Asked To Explore Whether ‘Innocent Infringement’ Is A Legit Response In File Sharing Cases

A few years back, we wrote about a teenager who used “innocent infringement” as a defense to an unauthorized file sharing lawsuit brought against her by the RIAA. Innocent infringement is in the law, as a way to reduce the statutory awards from the $750 minimum to $200. It doesn’t absolve the person or get them out of paying, but can greatly lower the amount. The district court agreed, and said she could just pay the $200 rate. However, an appeals court overturned, saying that because CDs have copyright notices on them — even though the girl never saw the CDs — the girl should have known that the mp3s were infringing. The logic there made very little sense. How can you hold someone to a clause that was never seen?

The girl’s lawyers have now appealed the case to the Supreme Court, which now has the option of weighing in on the matter (the Wired article linked here is a little misleading, in that at the beginning and in the headline, it implies that the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case). If I had to guess, I’d say the Supreme Court won’t take the case, even though it is an important issue.

According to recent study, brushing your teeth can not only prevent a variety of tooth diseases and make your breath smell nice, but it can also help to prevent heart disease.  The study found that people who admitted to brushing their teeth less than twice a day had a 70% greater risk of having a heart attack.

According to Richard Watt, DDS, from University College London: “Our results confirmed and further strengthened the suggested association between oral hygiene and the risk of cardiovascular disease.  Furthermore, inflammatory markers were significantly associated with a very simple measure of poor oral health behavior.”  However, Watt also said that more studies would need to be conducted before it could be determined whether the two factors in question, namely poor dental hygiene and heart disease, are in fact causal or simply have a tendency to occur alongside one another.

However, researches do suspect causal tie:  “Inflammation plays an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, and markers of low grade inflammation have been consistently associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease,” is what was written in a report.
