Formula One impresario Bernie Eccelstone wants to bring his series back to the United States, but he’s apparently not keen on returning to Indy, site of the U.S. Grand Prix from 2000-2007. Instead, he hopes to stage the race in a big media market like New York City. While the idea of an F1 street course in Manhattan has surfaced repeatedly over the years, anyone familiar with the city will tell you the concept is clearly idiotic.
In recent days, however, a new venue has jumped in as a possible host: the Monticello Motor Club. Monticello is a private motorsports country club located about 75 miles northwest of Manhattan. The track has a maximum length of 4.1 miles with 22 turns depending on the configuration, and would make a magnificent site for an F1 race. While there is an airport nearby, and the track itself is new, having opened in 2008, there are currently no spectator facilities. If Monticello gets the deal to host a Grand Prix, a lot of work would have to be done, meaning a race probably wouldn’t happen until at least 2012 or maybe even 2013.

Rule number one of the Internet should be to always read past the headline before hitting the keyboard to comment. A prime example comes from the latest press release from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The statement’s headline implies that PA state troopers will be enforcing seatbelt use from aircraft flying overhead. Frankly, given the budget constraints of most states, we suspect that aerial traffic enforcement is enormously wasteful at best. But the idea of even detecting seatbelt use from the sky seems absurd on its face.
As it turns out, Pennsylvania’s belt law only only allows for secondary enforcement anyway. That means if you drive unbelted past a trooper while still observing all other traffic edicts, you can’t get pulled over. Hence, the Air, Land and Speed campaign that the Pennsylvania state police is undertaking this summer will be primarily focused on catching speeders and then giving them secondary tickets if they insist on being truly foolish by driving unrestrained.

United States President, Barack Obama
Not surprising, President Obama has ordered the Environmental Protection Agency to begin working on tougher fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions standards for cars and trucks in the 2017 model year moving forward.
The administration will announce plans to extend a program that set efficiency standards this year for cars, and to also ask federal agencies to develop heavy-truck standards beginning with the 2014 model year. The president also intends to push for further development of electric-powered and other advanced technology cars.
This past April, as part of the president’s push to modernize America’s automobiles, he announced rules for 2012-2016 model year vehicles to aim for 35.5 mpg. The rules are welcomed by automakers and environmentalist groups alike.
California has also agreed not to adapt any further state standards through 2017, but this extension will set national standards for efficiency. “Improving the gas mileage of these vehicles not only would provide opportunity for economic growth and job creation, but would strengthen our energy security and reduce global warming emissions as well,” said Don Anair, a senior analyst with UCS.

Toyota President and CEO, Akio Toyoda
ToMoCo President Akio Toyoda has said that scrutiny from inside and outside of the company has been a ‘good lesson’, and expects his company to emerge stronger than ever.
“There is a Japanese proverb: After the rain, the ground hardens,” Toyoda said in an interview yesterday. “I am very confident we will look back and say the company has become more focused on our customers and safety because we went through this period.”
Toyoda, who came in as president almost a year ago, attributes the recent problems to the company’s rapid expansion. The NHTSA continues to investigate the company’s handling of past recalls – the company faced a record-high fine for improper notification of known safety issues. As part of its image restoration efforts, the company has formed a global quality committee.
Toyota faces serious competition from Ford and Hyundai in the U.S. market. It has announced separately, a joint-venture with Tesla Motors – bringing the world’s leading hybrid manufacturer together with the only manufacturer of U.S. highway-legal battery-powered cars. The deal with Tesla will help offset some of the threat from GM and Nissan and their advancements in electric-battery powered vehicle technology.

Andrew Cuomo the New York State Attorney General stated that he will run in election in New York City with reason enough is enough, well it looks like he has ready made plans to refor New York. He is 52 years old with a lot of political experience.
Cuomo told the following “We want our government back, I have a plan to rebuild New York from the ground up.” We’ll see what he was trying to explain here in future the big thing now is that he’s ready to be elected.
He also stated that he have ready made plans to revolutionize New York’s economy without raising taxes, this sounds very catchy but we’ll see how he plan to do this. Cuomo is very popular and reputable in NY so he have good chances in election. He remembered a better New York and he misses it.

Today’s eBay find of the day is a particularly rare Porsche, a 1967 910 Spyder coupe. “Spyder Coupe,” you say? But that makes no sense! This particular car began life in early 1967 as the third of five 910 Spyders built by the factory for European hillclimb competition. After winning two of four races in ’67 as part of the factory team, the car was rebuilt and offered for sale. It was purchased by John von Neuman, who raced it for the next two years in the U.S.
Eventually, the original Spyder bodywork was replaced with a coupe shell and the car passed through several collections over the next 30 years. It currently resides at Symbolic Motor Cars in La Jolla, California, where we stumbled across it a couple of months ago while browsing. If you happen to be in La Jolla, Symbolic has a pretty impressive inventory; at the time of our visit, it included two Bugatti Veyrons, a Lamborghini Reventon, a 1963 Shelby 289 Cobra and a number of Ferraris whose vintages range the 1960s to the present.
Oh, and the asking price for the Porsche 910? A cool $995,000.

Toyota
Toyota’s aggressive incentive campaign is starting to lose effect, says Edmunds, as retail sales for the company fell 12% in May.
“We’re noticing that Toyota’s incentive program is starting to fall on deaf ears since most of the people who were open to getting deals from the automaker already made their purchases,” said Edmunds analyst Jessica Caldwell.
While Toyota seems to be having problems recovering from recent image troubles, Lexus brand sales are actually up 22% from April.
Though down since last month, Toyota sales are still running 22% higher when compared to the same time last year. J.D. Power estimates May’s industry-wide retail sales to be down 6% from April. These numbers however, do not reflect fleet sales.

Earlier this week, a Dutch auto dealer plastered the Dodge – rather, Ram – logo on a Fiat 500. It looked pretty bad. Now, Fiat USA is offering Yanks a chance to choose a more conventional logo for the cute little bugger, and thankfully, the mountain mammal doesn’t factor into the equation.
Elsewhere, the 500 logo is the horizontally-split numerical graphic at the top. Your job is to let Fiat know which of the five supplementary graphics you think should grace the car. Whether Fiat plans on listening to any of you or using your majority choice anywhere remains to be seen, but as long as it isn’t number three then we’ll have fun playing. And as Mr. Letterman would advise, please, no wagering. Hop on over to Fiat USA’s Facebook page and cast your vote. Top tip, Robert M!

A 13 year old teen Raymond Hosier, from a school in New York was suspended for wearing rosary beads to school. He was sent home for wearing a religious symbol outside his clothing.
Usually students are not allowed to wear beads because of the concern they me be related to some gang. But according to Raymond, the beads give him comfort after the death of his brother and uncle. Boy said, he was mad because they were suspending him for just wearing beads and he is not related to any gang. The beads just resemble his brother and uncle according to him.
This is wrong according to some people, because just wearing something does not mean he or she is not from a good family or saying that they are related to some gang and suspending the students because of that does not make any sense. So people are saying he should be taken back to the school, but it is totally on the school board and officials to take the decision. And some people said the school is right and they have taken the right decision and they have taken this decision keeping other students welfare in mind.

The ex husband of Sandra Bullock, Jesse James, blames himself for causing the split. He stated during his interview that he had a wonderful life with the actress, Sandra Bullock, because she was very supportive.
Jesse James seems to be in a big disappointment for letting Bullock go. He feels bad for cheating and told himself that he is the most hated man living on earth. He calls himself a “Douche bag” in his interview with Vicki Mabrey on ABC’s night time.
Jesse James readily admits that he is a cheater. Not on exams, but on his wife. He said in the interview “I took a pretty amazing life and marriage and threw it away.” As he stated this, he seemed to regret what he did to Bullock.
Bullock states every time she is interviewed about her husband, “I never knew what it was like for somebody to have my back, until I met Jesse. I love him.” This proves that Sandra is faithful to her husband and she is willing to do everything for him, because she loves him. However, at that time, James was not just into Bullock. He had a mistress, Michelle (Bombshell) McGee, who is a tattoo model. The model even stated that their marriage was “just for publicity”. This is upsetting especially if you really love the person, so you can not blame Bullock for the split up.
James is sorry for all the mistakes that he had done to Bullock. James realized that he wants to save his marriage as he stated during his interview.
If Sandra Bullock would watch the interview, will she finally forgive her husband who cheated on her?
