HTC is one of the best designer in the Windows Mobile world with their sexy headsets, but the functions that come with these things are not as great. This tweak created by an XDA member attempts to fix this issue. The tweak, which is very old changes what happens when you press the call button on your headset. here is exactly how it works “one long press on the headset’s microphone button => play/pause press quickly two times => play next track.” The tweak was confirmed for the HD, but I can not personally test this due to my headset being broken and cannot find another. Give this tweak a go and give us a comment on how it works out for you.
Apart from adding a still-unnamed motion controller to their 2010 slate, Sony also has 3D gaming scheduled for the year coming via firmware update. In an interview with Pocket-Lint, John Koller revealed that the feature will be

paperbag was the first of a whole bunch of you to send in the news of Blockbuster declaring bankruptcy in Portugal and claiming that it’s all the fault of those darn kids and their downloading. Well, more specifically, it blames the government for not doing enough to stop the sun from rising every morning… I mean, from stopping people from engaging in unauthorized file trading online. This is just an excuse for a company that failed to execute. The number of folks accessing unauthorized movies online is still a blip, and almost certainly had little impact on Blockbuster’s bottom line. The simple fact is that Blockbuster, worldwide, has done a really poor job of adapting to a changing world.
Hennessey Performance Engineering has announced that it is working on developing power upgrades for the new 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor pickup with the 5.4L being the main focus. The tuner says that high-performance engine upgrades will increase output anywhere from between 450-hp to 1,000-hp.
In the mean time, Hennessey has its VelociRaptor 500 available for order. Upgrades include a new Supercharger System for the 5.4L V8 along with custom fuel rails, upgraded fuel-injectors, stainless steel headers, a stainless steel exhaust system and engine management software calibration. All the modifications help the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor return 501-hp with a maximum torque of 520 lb-ft. That allows for a 0-60 mph run in 5.6 seconds with and a quarter mile run in 14.1 seconds at 97 mph.
Hennessey is also working on upgrades for the Raptor with the 6.2L Coyote engine.

“An Arab ambassador called for an instant divorce after discovering his veil-wearing fiancée had a beard and was cross-eyed, it emerged today.
The would-be bride had hidden her face behind a Muslim niqab throughout their short courtship, meaning the diplomat had no idea what she looked like.
But as soon as the marriage was contract was signed in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, he tried to kiss her, before coming face-to-face with her hairy face and strange squint.
‘He was absolutely horrified,’ said a wedding guest.
‘The bride [a physician] had a nice personality, but there was a good reason why she was hiding her looks behind a veil…” (Read the whole story)
There is no way a divorce should be granted…this is your culture, deal with it. You treat your women like dogs so why shouldn’t they look like one…
De curand am descoperit numele unei noi specii de barbati : Barbatul “Oaie”. Am stat putin sa ma gandesc cam cum se manifesta aceasta “specie” masculina si intr-un final am ajuns la urmatoarele concluzii :
Aceasta specie se imparte in doua subcategorii :
I. Barbatul “oaie” cu prietena
II. Barbatul “oaie” fara prietena
Prima subcategorie prezinta urmatoarele simptome :
Barbatul “oaie” :
– nu isi contrazice prietena nici daca viata lui depinde de asta ;
– nu vrea sub nici o forma sa o supere
– ii face absolut toate poftele fara sa clinteasca
– ea are intotdeauna dreptate ; chiar si cand nu are !
Remediul manifestarii :
+ scoaterea organului masculin din gaura adiacenta
+ descoperirea “cojones”-urilor
Toyota’s recent recall of more than 8.1 million vehicles is shedding light on a lot of things – one of them being an old court case about an accident involving a 1996 Toyota Camry.
According to court filings, on June 10, 2006, 29-year-old Koua Fong Lee was traveling eastbound on Interstate 94 going as fast as 90 mph when his car hit an Oldsmobile at a red light. The accident killed the driver of the Oldsmobile along with his 10-year old son. His 7-year old niece was left a quadriplegic and died a year and a half later.
Lee was eventually sentenced in 2008 to eight years in prison after being convicted of criminal vehicular homicide.
Lee’s defense attorney is now trying to get the case reopened, amid news of millions of recalled Toyotas for problems relating to sudden acceleration.
“I don’t know who could disagree with this being a possible cause — because otherwise he’s just a wild kamikaze guy trying to kill somebody,” said attorney Brent Schafer.
Schafer said that the car still exists and is sitting at a police impound lot. He plans on petitioning for the court for an order preserving the car and seeking approval to get it examined.
I had a great morning at Luxor temple with Mansour Boraik. There is so much excavation going on in Luxor at the moment and one of the areas under investigation but not mentioned in his talk is the ‘tell’ behind the Pashas House. This is the last part of medieval Luxor left when the area was cleared decades ago, because of its proximity to the Pashas House. It is very early days and I can’t mention what they have found until official publication but what I did like to see was the field school in operation. They have a number of skilled inspectors who are passing their knowledge on to the new young inspectors.
Usually when you hear of plunging auto sales, you think of Chrysler (sorry Marchionne, but it’s probably statistically true as well). Sales of Chrysler Group LLC were down 44 percent in 2009 when compared with 2008.
However, we now have another culprit – Daimler AG’s Smart USA. The brand saw a 40 percent drop in annual sales last year and to make matters worst, it sold only 278 units in January, down from 864 in December. January sales were also down 84.3 percent from the same period an year earlier, when Smart sold 1,776 units of its ForTwo coupe.
Nonetheless, company officials say that they know how to get back on track. Jill Lajdziak, former Saturn boss, says that the company will go back on the road to do shows and offer public test drives. A company spokesman says that Smart is seeing a “lack of brand awareness and misconceptions regarding its safety.”
A plug-in electric Smart ForTwo is also due in the fourth-quarter; but all that will do is raise awareness about the brand since only 250 units will be available in select markets.
The fight against illegal file-sharing is relentless, though surprisingly pointless at the same time. In another win for common sense, a Norwegian appeal court is standing by an earlier decision and has ruled that ISPs can’t be forced to block sites, the Pirate Bay in this case, based on the wishes of private groups even if they represent the… (read more)
To celebrate LGBT History Month, the UCL Petrie Museum has created an LGBT History Trail of objects that tell of homosexuality in ancient Egypt. It also considers some of the mythology and stories that construct ancient Egyptian sexuality. John Johnston, who is pursuing a PhD in UCL Archaeology, describes a few of the objects on display. Along with reliefs and sculptures, objects include a papyrus from the 12th dynasty (1991-1782 BC), relating the tale of Horus and Set’s encounter.
The last time I saw John we were both serving wine at the Friends of the Petrie Summer Party, which was a great occasion. Somehow John’s partner, who has nothing to do with either Egypt or the Petrie, had got reigned in so serve drinks as well! John is a lovely guy and it is great to see him giving this mini tour of some of the artefacts from the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology.

Paul Barford has a small rant about the new rules re photography in the Valley of the Kings, explains why he cannot post some of the 1000s of photographs he took whilst he was in Egypt and suggests a good viewpoint for photographing the mortuary temple of Ramesses II at sundown from a distance. He wasn’t impressed by the experience of visiting the temple itself and recommends Seti I instead. Finally he wraps up with a comment about resource management at the temple of Hatshepsut. He includes some photographs in the piece.
The Biggest Loser couples headed to the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado. Upon their arrival, Alison told them they’d be competing as individuals and two contestants would go home this week. The contestant who falls below the red line will go home immediately, and then one of the two contestants who fall below the yellow line would be sent home as well. Soon after that announcement, Alison introduced the couples to Allison Jones. Allison shared her inspiring story with the contestants and gave them some nutritional advice before the couples headed off to begin their usual workouts.
After the Biggest Loser couples saw the room they’d be staying in, they headed to the kitchen where they discovered the food they’d be eating for the week, which was the same meals the Olympic athletes eat, and some of those meals consisted of several calories.
Before the contestants participated in their first workout, Bob and Jillian introduced them to Julia Mancuso and Jeret “Speedy” Peterson. After the brief introduction, the couples began an Olympic-style workout with Bob, Jillian, Julia and Speedy. As Speedy observed the Biggest Loser couples during their workout, he appeared to be exhausted just watching them, so he asked Bob if he thought the couples needed a break, but Bob informed Speedy that The Biggest Loser contestants don’t get a break.
“They can rest after the Olympics,” Bob added.
“You guys make me feel like a wus. I don’t workout that hard,” Speedy told the contestants, after they completed their first workout for the week. “You guys are an inspiration to me and everyone at home. You better be an inspiration to yourselves,” Speedy added.
Speed Skating Training, Sort Of
Later, the Biggest Loser couples joined Alison for a pop challenge and met short track speed skater J.R. Celski. After J.R. shared his story with the contestants, he demonstrated the pop challenge for them. In a skating motion, the contestants had to slide across a board and hit each edge with their feet. Once they hit both edges, it counted as one stroke. The first three contestants to reach 500 strokes won a bronze, silver and gold metal, as well as an advantage in the upcoming physical challenge.
At first, the Biggest Loser couples fell a few times while sliding back and forth on the board, but after a while, they caught on. Melissa was the first to reach 100 strokes with Sam on her heels, but when she fell, Sam passed her up and became the first to reach 500 strokes. Melissa finished second, and Sunshine came in third.
The next stop for the couples was at the Garden of the Gods for their physical challenge. Once there, Alison introduced them to Kelly Underkofler then explained the challenge. For this week’s physical challenge, the contestants ran around the field shooting at their opponents’ targets with a laser gun. As soon as the other Biggest Loser contestants hit their opponent’s target five times, that contestant was eliminated from the competition. The last person left standing won immunity. Before the shooting began, Alison explained the advantage that Sam, Melissa and Sunshine would get for winning the pop challenge. Alison said since Sam won the gold metal he’d get to name a free shot at three targets; Melissa won the silver, so she named a free shot at two targets; and Sunshine’s bronze allowed her to name a free shot at one target. The point of winning the pop challenge was to use the advantage to help themselves during the physical challenge. However, the three misused their free shots when Sunshine chose to use her free shot on Sam, then Melissa used both her free shots on Sam, and Sam used one of his targets on Sunshine and the other two on Melissa.
After Sam, Sunshine and Melissa revealed their poor target choices, the challenge commenced. They all seemed to gain up on Lance and eliminated him first. Next out was Melissa followed by Daris. In the end, it was O’Neal verses Darrell, and both took aim, but O’Neal shot Darrell’s target first and won immunity.
“I just won immunity. I’m so happy. Wow! Yes!” O’Neal commented.
A Visit 24-Hour Fitness: How Much Did They Pay for This Plug?
Subsequent to the entertaining challenge, the couples made their way to 24-hour Fitness for their Last Chance Workout with Bob, Jillian and figure skater Rockne Brubaker. At first, Rockne didn’t really know what to have the contestants do, so he watched Bob and Jillian, but eventually he got more involved and encouraged the contestants during their workout.
And Finally the Weigh-In
The couples headed back to the Biggest Loser ranch for the weigh-in. Since O’Neal had immunity, he weighed in first.
O’Neal lost 8 pounds.
Mike lost 11 pounds (2.48 percent)
Stephanie lost 4 pounds (1.78 percent)
Sunshine lost 6 pounds (2.45 percent)
Koli lost 9 pounds (2.69 percent)
Andrea lost 7 pounds (2.67 percent)
Darrell lost 5 pounds (1.46 percent)
Sam lost 12 pounds (3.87 percent)
Sherry lost 3 pounds (1.67 percent)
Ashley lost 6 pounds (1.89 percent)
Daris lost 9 pounds (3.18 percent)
Cheryl lost 3 pounds (1.55 percent)
Miggy lost 7 pounds (3.4 percent)
Lance lost 9 pounds (2.87 percent)
Melissa gained 1 pound, which put her below the red line, and Darrell and Cheryl fell below the yellow line.
Before Melissa left, she encouraged Lance to keep going and not give up. As for Darrell and Cheryl, Alison announced that instead of voting the two would compete in a challenge. Darrell and Cheryl had to balance an Olympic torch on their head. The first to lose focus and drop their torch would have to leave the ranch.
The Biggest Loser couples watched Darrell and Cheryl. Because of Darrell’s bad knees, he was uncomfortable from the start, and it looked as if he would drop his torch before Cheryl, but Cheryl’s torch was a bit off, so one wrong move from her meant she’d go home and Darrell’s discomfort would be worth it. Whose torch will fall first? Unfortunately, we’ll have to tune in to “The Biggest Loser Couples Season 9″ after the Winter Olympics to discover the answer. Until then, use our comments area to discuss your predictions.
Update: Melissa is addicted to boxing, and to-date she’s lost a total of 58 pounds.

Inside, we restored all of the icons and paintings, as well as the architecture of the church. The most impressive thing, though, was that underneath this church, we discovered the oldest Coptic cell in the world. It dates to the 4th century AD, and the areas where the monks would stand and sit are still visible. Our restoration experts constructed a plexiglass floor over this cell, which allows visitors to view this old cell while still preserving the 6th century structure above.
Another building that was very well restored is the dining hall, which contains a long dining table made of limestone, with space for about 60 people to sit around it and eat. There is also a space for a person to sit and recite religious texts. The restoration work here kept the feel of the past, and I could imagine it was like the dining of the Middle Ages.
The Monastery of Saint Anthony also has a fortress that dates to the reign of the Roman emperor Justinian, in the 4th century AD. This area was used to protect the monastery from the attacks it suffered through its long history. The monastery also has a well that provides over 100 cubic meters of water, a water wheel, a grinding area, and a garden.
The landscape of this monastery is beautiful, and many scholars come to study the architecture of this place. During our restoration, we removed several buildings that did not fit with the original design of the monastery and restored over 110 cells.
Mark Borda discovered these hieroglyphic inscriptions deep in the Sahara, at the border of Egypt, Libya and Sudan in 2007. They are the first evidence we have that the ancient Egyptians penetrated this far. I will be posting more information about this amazing find (about which there is considerable misinformation on the net) very shortly.
Mark Borda made arguably the biggest Eastern Sahara discovery of the decade when he found the ancient Egyptian inscriptions on a large boulder right in the Sudan/Egypt/Libyan border area. That’s the picture preceeding this post. Here he answers a few questions on the matter.
