One of the groups pushing for taxpayer-funded national broadband Internet, Free Press, is led by people who have called the United States a terrorist institution and called for the overthrow of the capitalist system. These quotations and more are revealed in a new report from the Americans for Prosperity Foundation.
Free Press is holding an event Feb. 17 on Capitol Hill to pressure the Federal Communications Commission on their national communications priorities.
A year ago Congress passed a ‘stimulus’ package they said would save our economy and create jobs. It failed. Even Democratic Senator Evan Bayh now says Congress hasn’t created one job worth noting. We’re at nearly 10 percent unemployment and our country is still losing jobs. Last year, our NoStimulus.com petition collected over 475,000 signatures in just a couple of weeks, all telling Congress to stop this outrageous spending.
It’s time we move from talking about "free markets" and "free enterprise", to actually learning what those terms mean, and how we can teach them to our friends, family, and neighbors.
Only when the American people understand how integral economic freedom is to both political and religious freedom will the inherently flawed ideas of liberals and progressives everywhere be placed on the "trash heap of History" where they rightly belong.
