  • Aussie Nissan Navara ST-X Gets Upgraded Engine and Safety

    The new top-of-the-range Series 4 Navara ST-X Dual Cab utility vehicle had just been launched on the Australian market, significantly improved, the carmaker says. The vehicle comes with an upgraded 140kW/450 Nm 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine, as well as additional active and passive safety features including ESP.

    The changes include a new direct injection system, which operates at 2000 bar, up from 1800 bar, and a new cylinder head with parallel ports.

  • Mercedes-Benz Delivered the 2.5 Millionth Compact Vehicle

    Mercedes-Benz announced that its two compact vehicles, the A-Klasse and the B-Klasse, have reached a milestone this month, as the 2.5 millionth Mercedes compact was delivered.

    As the two vehicles have been so successful and the compact segment of the market is becoming more important, the German carmaker plans to add two new models to its compact line-up at the end of next year.

  • Indian Wall of Death Demonstration [Video]

    We are not sure how many of you automotive fans are familiar with the term Wall of Death. Born as a carnival sideshow and somewhat reminiscent of the Mad Max atmosphere, the let’s call it show involves a flimsy circular wall, made of anything convenient, surrounding a small, center stage.

  • Sollers Plans to Increase Engine Production

    The Russian automotive producer Sollers has announced that it plan to increase its 2010 engine production by 17 percent, as just-auto reports.

    A wave of rumors surfaced subsequently to the release of the announcement, indicating that the company’s revenues would see a 15 percent growth this year. Sollers, formerly known as Severstal Auto, is expected to develop its business through a $22.4 investment during the course of the current year.

  • First 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon to Auctioned at Barrett-Jackson

    The first of the only 500 units 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition to be built will be auctioned by American manufacturer Chevrolet at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Fla., on April 3.

  • Saab 9-5 UK Pricing Released

    The newly started second life for Saab is off for a great start, with the resuming of production announced earlier this week, followed today by the release of pricing for the new 9-5 sedan for the UK market.

  • Penske MINI Dealer Opens in Tempe

    The fourth MINI dealership operated by Penske in the US opened this week in Tempe, Arizona, in a 19,300 square foot, state-of-the-art location. According to Penske, the new dealership is expected to generate $20 million in annualized revenue in its first year of operation.

    The new dealership is built with floor to ceiling windows, colors associated with the image of the MINI brand, product displays and 15 service bays.

  • Mercedes SLS AMG Scale Model Released

    Yesterday, we reported that a series of leaked images revealed the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 in all its glory.

    The race car features a delicious aerodynamic kit consisting of a front bumper addition, two front air fins, a new hood featuring a large air intake, a bespoke rear bumper that houses an air diffuser and a massive rear spoiler.     When the Honda HSV-010 GT was unveiled in late 2009, we were left breathless. So were we after we saw these images, shot during the 2010 SuperGT season opener in Suzuka this weekend, but for another reason entirely.

  • Motorland Aragon – Official MotoGP Reserve for the Next 5 Years

    According to MotoGP’s rights-holder Dorna, newly-built circuit Motorland Aragon will become the official reserve circuit of the MotoGP championship for the upcoming 5 years.   • BMW Sets Sales Target of Over 100,000 Cars for China

    BMW has set itself a double digit sales growth target on the Chinese market for this year, planing to sell over 100,000 vehicles in the country, as Gasgoo reports.

  • Sauber Could Debut McLaren Air Inlet System in Australia

  • Roewe 350 Also Assembled in the UK

    SAIC’s (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) Roewe 350 hatchback will be assembled in both China and Great Britain (at the Longbridge production site), as autocar reports.

  • Skoda UK Launches Happy Swapping Promotion

    The British division of Skoda recently announced it has launched a post-scrappage scheme solution to its customers. Dubbed Happy Swapping, the initiative follows the Government’s car scrappage scheme which ended in February 2010.
