  • I was bad last night.

😡 Had dinner late last night, 7 hrs btw meals, went through BK drivethru, ate Whopper jr, no cheese, no mayo, and a kid size fries. Pre-dinner bg 105, 3 hrs post, 178!

I knew I shouldn’t eat the fries, I knew I shouldn’t eat them all, they weren’t even good fries, but I was hungry and tired and I at them anyway. Ugh!

  • How often — and when — do you eat?

I’m a newly diagnosed diabetic t2 and just before I was dx I was hired for a part-time job in retail. My hours vary from day to day, and my shift is usually 5-6 hours long. My problem is the start and stop times are not near what I consider meal times and I’m not sure what to do. My understanding is they don’t have to give me a meal break if my shift is not more than 6 hours in length. But many of my shifts are from 3-9 pm or from 10am to 2pm, which makes meals awkward. Any advice?
  • Greetings from Michigan

I was diagnosed 12/4. I started taking Metformin immediately and dieting. So far, I’ve lost 10 pounds and my morning BG was 108 today. I know this is just the beginning of a lifelong journey, but I’m encouraged by how rapidly my bg dropped (it was 267 when I was diagnosed). My husband is being great, encouraging me with my diet and comforting me when I’m down. All in all, I’ll get by.
