Archos apparently is planning on rolling out its Generation 8 tablets come this summer, with six models ranging from 3- to 10-inch screens. Along with prices ranging from $100-$350 Archos is bringing the power of the internet to your hands without draining your pockets. What stands out about this tablet is that it’ll have mulitouch which will be a first for Archos. Generation 8 will also be packing an ARM Cortex processor between 800MHz and 1GHz with a 3G open GL support. Said to be running Android, swapping out AppLibs for the Android Market. Hopefully there will be more talk about this tablet at Computex in June. [archoslounge via slashgear]

Google buys U.K. visual search startup Plink, could help improve Goggles
Plink- A U.K. based visual search app (about the same idea of Google Goggles) has been bought by Google for an undisclosed amount. PlinkArt won last December in the Android Developer Challange. PlinkArt allows you to use your camera to take pictures to identify paintings and artwork.
"The move is part of Google’s new initiative to acquire one company per month in order to improve and expand its line of services."
Why buy? Take a look back at Google Voice, which Google bought back when it was GrandCentral. Now Google’s bought Gizmo5, and Google Voice reportedly is building on that platform, too. [Boy Genius Report]

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 coming to Canada’s Rogers network On April 15
There has been a alot of hype about the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and to make matters worse we even watched Sony unbox it for us. (It’s cool. We’ve done a hands-on and have one in the office as we speak.) We’ve been waiting to hear when and where this bad boy would end up. No surprise, it’s not coming to the U.S. first (if at ever) Instead, it’s going to our neighbors to the north. Come April 15 one can go into any Rogers store and pick up the new Xperia X10 and get a Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth headset for free.
Not a bad deal, not only do you get the newest high end phone, you get a free headset that’s about $100 at retail. [Rogers via Engadget]

Google CEO Eric Schmidt Keeps His Inbox Clean
It seems there are basically two kinds of gmailer’s. The ones who keep every e-mail in their inbox with the goal to someday (and somehow) fill it, then the others that can not seem to delete it fast enough. Google CEO Eric Schmidt is one of those who doesn’t prefer clutter in his inbox, or maybe he prefers to keep his phone running smoothly. According to Valleywag, Schmidty can’t kill things quick enough.
"The CEO of Google and ultimate overlord of email-hoarding service Gmail deletes every email he receives, unless he’s specifically asked to do otherwise."
It seems that Mr. Schmidt has no intention to use those gigabytes of storage on his Gmail account. Then again, when someone such as Eric Schmidt is using 30 different computers at work, we can see how important it would be not to let information get in the wrong hands. [valleywag]
