😮 😮 Well this thursday I have to get this procedure done on my right eye for macularedema. Has anyone had this procedure done before and what are the repercussions. I am a fairly new diabetic so I really dont know all the complications associated with diabetes. I know if I dont get it fixed then I can go blind down the road. Please tell me this is just common routine.

Hello Fellow Diabetics,

I was diagnosed with TYPE 2 in Apr09 with an A1C of 13.9 BG at 455. I weigh 160lbs and i am somewhat active. I just recently had an eye exam and now I have to get surgery for macular edema. In Aug my A1C was 7.1 BG at 140 and I have diabetic retinopathy. I cheated myself since Aug which has caused many concerns with my DOCs causing my last A1C at 13 BG 430. I am currently taking 1000mg Metformin 2X aday, 40mg Micardis, 20mg Zocor, Cinnamon pills, back on Lantus of 10units a day. I am in the Navy and want to get back into working out at the gym. I play alot of sports but no weighttraining. I have a protein powder with 50 Grams of Protein with 0 carbs. I am just blabbing at the mouth forgive me. I still have a problem with eating the right foods and if I control my eating I am still hungry a couple hours after.
