  • Microsoft Kin on screen Notifications?

so I was browsing around the net and I happened to see a video over at pocketnow showing off the kin2, but what actually caught my eyes happened 13 to 13 seconds into the video: http://i39.tinypic.com/6qaag5.png

Excuse my drawing…I didn’t have a straight edge but seriously though, it doesn’t seem as if they’re using the toast notification system they showed off for windows phone 7. It is a bit strange to me that it doesn’t seem of if they are using it. This modal notification forces the user to deal with the notification first then go back to what he or she was doing before. this type of notification has it’s benefits but also has many draw backs depending on how it’s actually implemented.

  • Microsoft: copy and paste evolved.

Microsoft’s new Pink initiative with Verizon showed some interesting things today that could possibly make their way to the upcoming Windows Phone 7 platform, namely copy and paste…..which now seems to be….drag and drop?

Check out this facebook video Microsoft posted, it’s shown at about 30 seconds in:

If this is really the tech Microsoft is looking to bring to the mobile space where users can drag any content/element from any screen and drop it in another screen/application would be awesome, can I use the word revolutionary? I don’t even know what to think, all I can say is this tech is cool. I would love for it be in Windows Phone 7.

    What do you guys think?

  • Skydrive, MyPhone, Geo-tagging are go for Windows Phone 7

    This is a user-generated post.

After Dan Ardelean posted an unlocked emulator the guys over at XDA took a deep look into what really makes Windows Phone 7 series tick at this point in its development. So RustyGrom took some pictures which revealed a whole slew of info that are so potent that if it were drugs you would wake up 10 years in the future wondering “what the F** happened”…it’s like a gold mine in the emulator. Now without further ado, feast your eyes on some WP7 Series porn…I hope no one needs a change of pants after viewing these images.

Pic of the camera app and Office Sync:

It seems Microsoft has finally decide to incorporate Skydrive in their mobile offering by default. Skydrive gives you way more space for saving files at least 25GB. It is also rumoured to increase to 50GB of free online storage.

    More after the break.

Office mobile adds a little personalization, not sure if they’re going to expand on this a little farther, but we’ll have to wait and see. Also in settings we can see that Microsoft’s MyPhone service is in full swing in WP7 Series. When I get mine, this is the first thing I’m enabling in settings.

Some more in settings. Also on the pivot it’s there application settings with most likely be kept in this central location. Voice control is clearly built into the system. Here is the accounts page, I guess Microsoft is saying “F U Google” because I don’t see a Gmail option here…well, I don’t use Gmail either, but I’m just saying.

More settings shows us that OTA updates are a go for WP7 Series. The details page shows a myriad of info, one that is welcomed by me is the “Up Time”, I won’t have to check the registry anymore to see exactly how long my phone has been running.

What is that I see? is that voice search in action? this is getting sweeter and sweeter.

more on camera: Geo tagging is also enabled in the OS, not sure if there’s any additions that goes along with it. it’s not revolutionary, but it’s nice to see that it’s there.

  • 5 Minutes in the Life of a Cook

Waking up with this wicked headache I can’t seem to function properly in my kitchen. Something told me I shouldn’t have messed with that dead maggot in the tequila. Looking in my kitchen I can’t imagine how it got in such a state; it’s like a 12 legged octopus made breakfast this morning and didn’t even bother to clean up. The bastard.

Well, my kitchen is not in a good state so I decided to write about this issue I’ve been slaving on for about a week now. It has me ripping at hair I don’t even have. They say writing calms you down and allows you to focus, but it doesn’t seem to work, so what is a cook supposed to do when he can’t find a solution to his problem? Damn you Exchange for not working (*me pointing fist at kitchen*).

Yes, you curse at the problem. A solution will come, somehow….I think.
