For instance, with well over 6o million eco-enthusiasts in the U.S., it is clear that people everywhere desire ways to travel with a minimal and positive impact on the environment.

Native Alaskans need our help for Earth Day. Help us save Bristol Bay in Alaska and it’s wildlife.

Natural Resources Defense Council is truly trying to create visibility around the issue of saving Alaska’s Wildlife Eden from becoming a landfill. Few Americans are aware of the UK’s bargain to dump toxic waste in Bristol Bay, what in the world is media coming to?

Since the start of the last century 1900, Earth’s tiger population has decreased ninety percent. I am writing this post thinking of how it is the traditional year of the tiger in the Chinese New Year calander. Sadly, the South China tiger is extinct. While hunting was banned in 1979, that was at a time when less than a hundred South China tigers remained in the wild. World Wildlife Fund correspondents emailed today stating that “Today’s generations will never know the magnificence of these big cats”

World Wildlife Fund is leading the action efforts globally to preserve tigers world wide. With as few as 3,200 tigers remain in the wild, the Amur or Siberian Tiger.

“For more than a million years, this “King of the Jungle” reigned over a vast territory stretching from Turkey to Russia. Today, sadly, their habitat is disappearing–tigers occupy just seven percent of their historic range. Moreover, three sub-species of tigers–Bali, Javan and Caspian–have gone extinct in the past 70 years; a fourth one, the South China tiger.”

With less than four thousand of these magnificent creatures left in the wild world wide, we all have a chance to preserve one of the most amazing species on earth! World Wildlife Fund is offering gifts for your participation, donations, and new awareness on these wild animal issues.

This week we’re on the topic of saving endangered sea life, and now is the best time to take action with the Ocean Conservancy!

The Obama Administration has a newly formed Ocean Policy Task Force that’s accelerating a planning process for our glorious ocean and coasts.

Since it’s up to us to make sure these plans maintain, protect, revive and restore the health of the sea sustainably, I also sent the message below to the Obama Administration and the National Ocean Policy Task Force. If we get these simple and straitforward letters to them before the February 12 deadline we’ll help lock in our country’s commitment to take action to ensure comprehensive, responsible ocean planning that holds us accountable in preserving a healthy marine environment for the planet.

Last season NRDC announced it’s mission to save the Hawaiian island’s Whales, and now that this decision is facing the president we’re asking the Obama Administration to protect Hawaii’s false killer whales under the Endangered Species Act because the loss of even a few whales could endanger the survival of the entire population. These whales are among the most imperiled wildlife in the Hawaiian Islands with only 120 of them alive today.

Help grant federal protection to Hawaii’s coastal population of false killer whales. Shown below is one of my letters urging the Obama Administration to protect Hawaii’s false killer whales.
