I know the expansion plans for the CTA (Red Line, Orange Line, Yellow Line extension as well as the development of the Circle Line) and at least most of the line extensions should be completed by 2016 and the Circle Line by 2020.

Now there is less than enough expansion plan information on the internet for the Metra. I was wondering if there was any info on Metra expansion?

I know there is some talk about extending the Metra to Milwalkee and it intrigues me becuase it would definitely give me more of a reason to use the Metra. Also, something I would find interesting would be a "Metra Circle Line" that links Napierville, Joliet, and Shaumburg.

But is there any updated info?

I’ve moved to Chicago about 3 months ago to start college and I love looking at the skyline. I live in Lincoln Park and I usually go to the top of the Children’s Memorial Hospital Parking lot to get the best open air view of the city and that is roughly nine stories up. I’ve taken quite a few really good pictures from there and it’s a cool little spot.

Bt I’m wondering if any chicago photographers and other skyscraper and urban-loving chicagoans know of any other great free high up places with really good views of the city or lake or both? I’m up for a little exploring even in this weather…
