  • Do you, ladies have PCOS?

I do, and i believe that all women who has , should start writing long letters to docs, explain how messed up can be and find not a treatment but A REAL CURE, for this curse of nature.

    my personal experience.
I got my period 14 years old, it was painful, like a stomach ache.
After my first period the second one came 5-6 months after. PAIN PAIN PAIN, VOMITING , LOW PRESSURE, FAINTING,COLD SWEATS, all these for 12 years, ( iim 26 now) and i didn’t knew , my family didn’t get me to the doctor, (messed up family, another big story), and when I went to a doc, she told me that i have them and its ok. I was 22 when i went and until now i didn’t knew how serious can be.
    Did you know that:
More than 50 percent of women with PCOS will have diabetes or pre-diabetes (impaired glucose tolerance) before the age of 40.
Women with PCOS have a four to seven times higher risk of heart attack than women of the same age without PCOS.
Women with PCOS are at greater risk of having high blood pressure.
Women with PCOS have high levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol and low levels of HDL (good) cholesterol
    Chance of getting endometrial cancer
    the symptoms are:
infrequent menstrual periods, no menstrual periods, and/or irregular bleeding
infertility (not able to get pregnant) because of not ovulating
increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, back, thumbs, or toes—a condition called hirsutism (HER-suh-tiz-um)
    ovarian cysts
    acne, oily skin, or dandruff
weight gain or obesity, usually carrying extra weight around the waist
insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes
    high cholesterol
    high blood pressure
    male-pattern baldness or thinning hair
patches of thickened and dark brown or black skin on the neck, arms, breasts, or thighs
skin tags, or tiny excess flaps of skin in the armpits or neck area
    pelvic pain
anxiety or depression due to appearance and/or infertility
sleep apnea—excessive snoring and times when breathing stops while asleep
(Not all women with PCOS share the same symptoms)

Thats is so messed up. I got :
Acne, depression, very irregular periods, increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, It ruined my life until now, because no doctor told me anything of those and i might have insulin resistance, because of my family background.
now i went to a hospital and im waiting for my next period so i can do some tests.
here in greece, docs saying ” oh birth control pills are bad , don’t take them, blah, blah blah, ” fuck them , the minute i start birth control pills , is my happiest moments i.ve ever lived, no acne, no pains, everything is so perfect, now i stopped because i have to do the blood exams, and guess what….. ACNE ACNE ACNE, HAIR, SMALL BOOBS!
I took yasmin, and here in greece birth control pills cost like 10 euro, why in america cost like 60 dollars? because of the advertisment? here they don’t do to much advertisment.

thanks, all ladies you can share if you want to.

All my life i thought that i was crazy, crazy bitch from hell, i was feeling bad and now i know.

  • Ways to Lower Testosterone Levels?

    Hi guys

I’m 26 & mine are sky high & it’s no joke. (I know this may sound like a blessing in disguise in relation to the notorious effects of levels being too low but it’s not!)

Generally I’m constantly horny I have to deal with it at least 3 times a day else I’m moody for no other reason, I never used to have that much chest/belly hair now I trim it. I’m just starting to exercise more which relieves stress & stimulates endorphins but it’s not yet enough to counter my mood swings of aggresive feeling.

But the main detremental effect high testosterone is having for me now is that somehow it converts to a chemical that causes male pattern baldness & I’m thinning out at the temples & this has to stop! It’s a nightmare come true!

I know green/white tea & apples contain something that counters this chemical as well as minoxidil (regaine hair loss ointment)
But apart from getting enough sexual release & meditating to de-stress what else lowers testosterone? Does lots of weight lifting help?
Are there any other things I can change in my diet?

ps I’ll be hella googling this as well but by asing here I may connect with others that may be able to relate & give me sound advice.

No point telling me to live with the balding…by my own admission I’ve got a vain, shallow & self obsessed side to my nature which prob stems from being blessed with very nice looks & the thought of losing my hair kills me.

Flame me if you like as I might expect some, but I’ll just be looking at whatever new positive advice I might receive here.

    Thank you very much indeed.
John Milton it really does, I’ve been told by my doctor & there’s information on the net regarding it explaining the biological chemical process.
Some say baldness has no cure but why are ‘men’ mostly so greatly affected?…seriously testosterone is the reason!
Jenny by that do you mean take a cold shower? Sure, you wanna join me? lol x

  • Transgender hair loss..Anyone advise?

Im a guy experiencing some receding & thinning in my hair line..Almost looks like tiny bald patches. I have a thick hair & baldings not really in the family.

I,ve been taking spironolactone at around 100mg per day though it was 200mg until I noticed my hair thinning. My question, is this a symptom from the pills Im taking or could it be something else like a hormonal imbalance. I was also taking estradiol through a patch for a while.

Spironolactone (prevents) male pattern baldness so Im not sure what I should do. I have to get some advice & counsel. Does anyone know a good place in London I can contact. Email or phone could be good aswell then I can be anonymous. Im not really looking for a complete sex change you see, androgeny is closer to what Im looking for at the moment. Thanks.

  • I’ve been using Propecia for one week and am scared that I’m going to lose my libido…?

I heard that one side effect of taking Propecia for male pattern baldness could be impotence or loss of sexual desire and I didn’t think anything of it… I started taking the drug and within one week noticed a drop in my sex drive and a few other changes down below (in size) but ignored it. Anyway, 2 weeks later and i’m still kind of un-interested and had to force myself the other day as I was so worried. Is this all in my head? Is there anybody else out there who has taken Propecia and experienced loss of libido/impotence/lack of sexual desire? I’ve done loads of reading on the net and it seems that this is a BIG problem for lots of men, and some of them…. the side effects have been irreversable. I’d rather stop taking these now if thats the case. Any advice Much appreciated

  • receding hairline at 20? advice please?

Okay so my hairline is like at male pattern baldness one.

Eventually im just going to shave it down to a grade 1 on the clippers…..I have a nice masculine face….so it should suit me.

I have had long hair for quite a while…..i think everyone is going to be extremely shocked…..when i go from long bangs to a short buzz.

Im not that bothered to going bald myself…….but i think the expression on everyones face….and comments…..is just going to kill me

    Any adivce?

  • I’m scared of losing my hair please help? need helpful advice?

Ok well I have male pattern baldness I think, which means I will lose all my hair eventually. I’m only 21 and I’m really worried, because I am receding alot at the moment, but my hair is styled that it is covered up. I sort of hide behind my hair, because I think if i lost my hair I’d be doomed. at the moment my hair isn’t too bad, but when it starts to show i’m going to be really self concious. I have tried the shaven/buzzcut style before and I do look ok with it, but I’m just scared that when the time comes (maybe in a year or 2) I’ll have to shave it all off and stick with the buzz look :(

Also i’m starting university this september and I’ll most probably have to shave all my hair off when I’m there. This will deal a big blow to my self image lol. What will the girls think!? people will think I look old (even though i have a reasonably youngish face) I don’t want to look like a 50 yr old man at the age of 21/22. Please help any advice for me to make me feel better!?

  • Do I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome?? ?

I’m 16 and when I was reading about this I have most of the symptoms
    The ones I have are…

increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, back, thumbs, or toes—a condition called hirsutism (HER-suh-tiz-um) (i have alot of hair like on my chest inbetween my breasts and no other girls have that, it’s so embarresing :O)

    acne, oily skin, or dandruff
weight gain or obesity, usually carrying extra weight around the waist
(i find it hard to lose the weight too)

male-pattern baldness or thinning hair (my hair is kind of thin now but they may be because of layers in my hair)

anxiety or depression (not been diagnosed)

And I usually have trouble sleeping

I don’t want to go to the doctor, I know I should though. Could there be anything else wrong with me?

Also if I did have it, will I ever be able to have kids?

If you want to know more just ask

    Thanks
Ok, the reason I don’t really want to go to the doctors is because me and my mother share the same doctor and I’m worried she will tell her and I don’t want her finding out, stupid I know but I would rather go to a different one or something.

  • Going bald at a young age?

I’m seventeen years old and for a year now I’ve noticed that I’ve lost a lot of hair, mainly at the front, my hairline is receding. In the morning when I wake up I can see hairs on my pillow.
I look around the internet for advice given to people in my situation and the same answer seems to be male pattern baldness. But no one in my family history, on both sides of my family, has a history of baldness. Both of my grandfathers died with full heads of hair and all twelve of my uncles have good hair into their 40’s and 50’s.
I’m under no stress in my life at the moment as well. I don’t know what’s wrong and I wouldn’t mind it happening if I were ten or twenty years older. I’ve asked people in my family and they all say that it’s my imagination but I can see the evidence clearly and the rate it’s falling out makes it seem I will have no hairline in the next couple of years .If anybody has any suggestions or theories I’d love to hear them. Thank you.

  • I have noticed hair loss. How many brazil nuts is it OK to eat per day? Too much selenium causes hair loss.?

Selenium deficiency also causes hair loss, so what’s the right amount? Plus I am female, 45 and still breastfeeding my 19 month old once a day. So is is post-pregnancy hormones, or even pre-menopausal?

  • chemical burn, have i damaged myself irreparably?

somebody before mentioned links to ” bladder cancer ” associated with the problem im asking here.

    got me very frightened.

im 32 and years ago used to dye my hair alot , i did it to much and burnt my scalp at the time , and also caused the skin around my temples and forehead to be bleached , resulting in pale patches of skin on my olive complexion.

i have male pattern baldness and realised i probably didn’t do myself any favours my dyeing my hair and over doing it – possibly causing myself more hairloss caused by ‘ burn scar alopecia ‘ because of the over bleached dyeing.

i now take a hairloss medication tablet to for the male pattern balding .

as well as burning my scalp at the time and bleaching the skin around my temples and forehead – i got little red veins appearing on the surface of my scalp probably due to the chemical burn and excessive dyeing.

i want to know : because ive left it years, and ignored the slight injuries through dyeing – should i go and see a doctor about it ? – would there be anything they can do ? – could the red veins be removed ?

would i be at risk of skin cancer because of the chemical burn on my scalp years ago ?

can anything be done about the discoloured, bleached skin around the tops of my head ?

and if i did cause burn scar alopecia , is that a permanent thing or will the hairloss caused through that grow back ?
