My name is Paul Baker and I have been living with type 1 diabetes for almost 2 years. These two years have flown by. I can still remember the shock and trauma of being diagnosed like it was yesterday.
I seem to have got my diabetes under control. Currently I have an HbA1c of 6.3. The standard deviations of my readings are well below the mean. I am currently on an insulin pump.
I do a lot of exercise and love endurance sports. Most weeks I am exercising 4 times a week. There is nothing like a hour or two cycle before work to get your mind and blood glucose right for the day.
I am not one for a low-carb diet. In-fact I eat a high carbohydrate diet. I am pretty much carbo-loading all the time. (It is probably all the exercise.) I have a healthy obsession for carb-counting.
I have recently decided to start a blog about living with type 1 diabetes. It is a bit scary putting your thoughts down in such a public forum and getting little feedback. So… if you do make time to have a look. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks.
