  • Time for a change….

Hi Everyone. I haven’t been posting here much lately because I have been having a hard time and have been pretty down in the dumps. I have not only been having a terrible time managing my blood sugars, but I have several other chronic conditions that are taking a toll! Looking back, this is probably the time when I needed to post here the most! Oh well. Moving on….

I got some upsetting news (which wasn’t at all a surprise) at my endo appointment this week. My current a1c has gone back up to 7.8. I have been blessed so far not to have any major complications from my consistently poor numbers other than not feeling well physically or emotionally. I am aware that this could change very soon if I don’t make extreme changes in my diet and develop better communication w/ my dr so my pump settings can be fine tuned. More often than not, I range anywhere between 50-300 in a day. I can blame it on hormones, stress, illness, etc…but the truth is that I feel totally guilty about my diet and put most of the responsibility on myself. I should have this down by now.

I don’t have much to say except that I am not feeling happy about all of this and thought maybe you guys would understand. 🙂
Thanks for reading my rant! I promise to post a happy post next time!

  • Nerve problems in feet

Well, up until now, I have had no major diabetic complications. However, I have recently started getting weird nerve sensations in my feet. When I move my feet or wiggle my toes, I get a little jolt in my feet (both feet). It is the same sensation as touching a battery or getting a little electrical zing. I do have some very mild constant foot pain on the top of my feet. I assumed this was probably from wearing the wrong shoes, but now I’m wondering if it could be something more with the addition of the nerve thing that’s going on.
Can anyone tell me if this sounds like a diabetic complication (possibly neuropathy?) or if they have had a similar experience? I have an appointment with my endo on Tuesday and will definitely bring this up, but wanted to see if you guys had any input in the meantime.

    Thanks!
    Rachel
