I just picked up a new Honda Jazz and it comes with an immobilizer system that immobilizes the engine unless the key is present.
One of the accessories being offered was a gear lock. When I asked the salesman what utility the gear lock has when the car already has an immobilizer, he couldn’t come up with any convincing reasons. He said the gear lock would make the car un-towable, to which I was worried that if someone is towing the car anyway, they wouldn’t care if it’s towable or not. They’ll just drag the thing away, and possibly damaging the car in the process.
I thought that I’ll consult with the Team-BHP forum before I get the gear lock. So, T-BHP members, what do you say? Should I get a gear lock or not? And if I do, should I get the Honda one, the Autocop one, or some other one?
