This year University of St. Francis in Joliet is celebrating its 90th year of serving the Joliet and Will County community with quality higher education. For the Duns Scotus Honor Society students at USF, celebrating wasn’t enough. In the usual USF spirit, this group of students believed that it was necessary to give back to the community.
Along with the Peer Ministry students, the Duns Scotus Honor Society members have lead the student body in the goal of purchasing 90 pairs of shoes through TOMS Shoes since February 10th. TOMS Shoes, founded by entrepreneur Blake Mycoskie, has a "one for one" philosophy- for every one pair of shoes bought, one pair is donated to a child in need somewhere in the world. To date, TOMS has given away more than 400,000 pairs of shoes.
