Seems like a good substitue for regular friction brakes. Only concern is that the braking force is generated when there is movement between the magnetic and the aluminium plates and gets stronger as the speed increases (which means that unless the wheels moving, there wont be any braking force available and braking power reduces as the wheel rpm drops), tricky if you wanna stop on a slope or use threshold braking. It will prob need a small 2ndry friction brake for parking the car and im not sure how the threshold braking can be taken car of.
But it would be great to have non contact brakes like these in the future.

Im just gonna be using it to store data and will not be installing any applications. So how many partitions do you guys recomend?
Does the number of partitions affect the hard drive in anyway?
I would also like to connect it to my PS3 to watch video directly from the Ext HD. But i think PS3 only reads Fat32 and not NTFS. What would be a good solution to this? Maybe have just 1 partition in Fat32 and the rest in NTFS? I can always transfer the required videos to the FAT32 partition and view it.

Funny thing is, it doesn’t happen all the time. The switching off is very random and cannot be predicted. Sometimes it goes for days without switching off and on some days it goes off within a few mins of restarting.
Could it be a software issue? Will updating the firmware cure this?
Im downloading this update software (Is it the right one?) – http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/supp…0i?cc=in&lc=en
My current software version on the phone is CXC1250640 R6BC002 070607.

Anyway, i was surfing through Tata Sky this morning looking out for any programmes related to automobiles when i saw 2 other Discovery Channels. One was called Discovery Science and the other Discovery Turbo.
The word "Turbo" caught my eye and i had to check it out first. What i saw was nothing short of a dream. This channel has only automotive related programmes 24hrs a day.
I had just missed something called "Twist the Throttle" when i switched on the TV, had it been any other channel, id have been disapointed but oh no…not here, not especially when the next programme is called "Redline TV"!!!
It also retains some of the renouwned shows like Fifth Gear, Overhaulin, American Chopper etc.
I dont see myself switching to any other channel after this. So those who haven’t got it, please do it asap. You will not regret it.
