The VW sales people told me that Polo service cost per year (or 10k kms) would be about 10k ~ 12k :Shockked: (they say synthetic oil itself is 4-5k and other misc costs) that costs a bomb.

Can anyone tell me how much does i20 and Swift cost per service.

I plan to drive about 5000 ~ 6000 kms/year.

Also the VW person told me that i have to buy ‘bajaj allianz’ insurance from them only, i cannot buy outside, why i didn’t understand, i thot with maruti and hyundai give the buyer the option to choose the insurance provider.

I guess that swift/i20/polo must return similar FE, now the service costs might be very different.

I am looking to buy a hatch with the following as main requirements

1. FE must be as good as a Swift K series
2. The seats must be comfortable both front and rear (like baleno)
3. AC must be decent, need not be very fast, but once working it must throw air properly

Test drives:

i20:
Engine was good
Braking was good
It was spacious but some how the interiors even though beige was not airy
Front seats were good
Back seats were big but not comfortable
Not very convincing car

i10:
Engine, Braking good
It was surprisingly spacious !!! even though looks small from outside
It was airy and the beige was beautiful
Front driver seat should have been taller or with height adjustment
Rear seat was quite comfortable

Swift:
Amazing engine and braking
Interiors were too dark, even in the sun, felt like i was inside a cave
Front seats were as good as baleno
Rear seats were bad and no legroom, not even as much as i10 :Shockked:

Polo:
Still waiting for it

Ritz:
I still need to do the TD

Vista:
I have heard its good, but somehow had a bad experience with fit and finish of TATA cars when i saw it last time.

i saw the ad on skoda website that they have 50,000/- discount and on carwale.com i got the on road price for ‘fabia active’ as 5.21 L on-road.

i called up TAL (skoda dealer) and they told that the base model if 5.7 Lacs !!

when i asked about fabia active, they said that its a very basic model and its 5.28 onroad and has 1 month waiting period. and they said they will call back to confirm availability. they never called back.

today i called them again, they said ‘fabia active’ is 5.50 Lac :Shockked:

what is skoda trying to do, i didn’t understand, has any one really bought the ‘fabia active’ for 5.2 or 5.25 lacs on-road in b’lore? or is it just a hoax created by skoda marketing?

2. have they factored in city-driving conditions for arriving at the figures?
3. where can i find the ARAI ratings for all the cars in india? i tried but could not locate it on the ARAI website :Frustrati

vw polo seems like a promising car on paper. hope this turns out good on road too. the next biggest question will be the ***. till date only a few expensive VW cars were available. can someone post the following information

1. what is the reputation of VW around the world w.r.t ***
2. what is their reputation in India with the few models they have sold
3. r they going to leverage the skoda service centers/dealer network?
4. when r the deliveries expected to start
5. any feedback on ‘elite motors’ bangalore? they told me that they will charge 50k for booking and currently they have about 40 bookings done and if i book now, i will get the car within 30days of launch date? if i book should i ask for this info in writing?

Can you guys let me know the comparison b/w polo base, swift lxi, i20 magna petrol versions on the following attributes. (assuming base petrol model)

1. seating comfort (both front and rear)
2. fuel efficiency in city & highway
3. expected cost of polo base on-road (bangalore)
4. *** of volkswagen in general (i know maruti and hyundai are great)
5. any other factor that i need to consider

Baleno seats both front and rear were amazing…..is there any vehicle in the sub-6.5 lakhs segment which offer similar seating comfort?

tried swift front seats are good, but rear is not.
i20 all the seats were hard

before i test the others, just wanted to know if someone who has used baleno can recommend another car…..

i dont want to buy second hand baleno 🙂 but in worst case i might.

also if some one can tell how much a 1-2 year old baleno cost in bangalore?
