‘Venezuela has scrambled two F-16
fighter jets to ward off a US ‘military plane’ amid reports of
“US trespassing the country’s airspace.” President
Hugo Chavez has ordered the fighters to confront a US P-3 maritime
patrol aircraft that had purportedly violated Venezuela’s airspace,
Reuters quoted the Venezuelan president as saying on Friday.
“They are provoking us … these are
warplanes,” Chavez noted, showing a picture of the plane, which he
said, had taken off from US military bases on the Netherlands’
Caribbean islands and from neighboring Colombia on two separate
occasions.’

‘“His explosives
couldn’t have blown up his own seat. Even if full power, it
wouldn’t have worked.” These were the words relayed to me
during a Jan. 2 interview with military analyst and counterinsurgency
specialist Gordon Duff in regard to the attempt of Christmas Day
underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab [sometimes referred to as
Abdulmutallab] to ignite 80 grams of the explosive PETN on a flight
destined for America. He also explained how the patsy’s country
of origin, Nigeria, is clandestinely controlled by the Israeli army and
Mossad.
These entities train the
military, sell weapons, run the airports, and wield power over DICON
(Defense Industries Corporation). Furthermore, Mutallab’s father
is a Mossad partner and Israel’s No. 1 contact in Nigeria. As the
former CEO of his country’s most influential bank and the man who
ran their national arms industry, Mr. Mutallab also harbors extremely
close relationships with the U.S. ambassador and CIA chief in Nigeria.’

‘If voters in the US or the UK had been
given a vote on whether their governments should inject trillions of
dollars into their banks (in the form of loans, guarantees and
investments), it is pretty likely that those referenda would have been
lost.
Most opinion polls indicated that citizens were furious with their
banks – and were not persuaded that letting them fail would wreak the
kind of economic havoc that would impoverish all of us. So most
economists, central bankers and finance ministers would probably say
that we should be grateful that in America and Britain the people
aren’t quite as sovereign (if that makes sense) as in Iceland.’

‘The world’s biggest investment banks
are expected to pay out more than $65bn (£40bn) in salaries and
bonuses in the next two weeks, reinforcing the view that it is business
as usual on Wall Street and in the City barely a year since the
taxpayer bailout of the banking system.’

‘What are we to make of
the failed Underwear Bomber plot, the Toothpaste, Shampoo, and Bottled
Water Bomber plot, and the Shoe Bomber plot? These blundering and
implausible plots to bring down an airliner seem far removed from
al-Qaida’s expertise in pulling off 9/11.
If we are to believe the
U.S. government, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged al-Qaida
“mastermind” behind 9/11, outwitted the CIA, the NSA, indeed all 16
U.S. intelligence agencies as well as those of all U.S. allies
including Mossad, the National Security Council, NORAD, Air Traffic
Control, Airport Security four times on one morning, and Dick Cheney,
and with untrained and inexperienced pilots pulled off skilled piloting
feats of crashing hijacked airliners into the World Trade Center
towers, and the Pentagon, where a battery of state of the art air
defenses somehow failed to function.
After such amazing
success, al-Qaida would have attracted the best minds in the business,
but, instead, it has been reduced to amateur stunts.’

‘The Illuminati is a powerful satanic
cult which practises pedophilia, incest and every sort of sexual
deviance. It tries to make society adopt its degrading behavior.
Illuminati controlled media and entertainers saturate us with
pornographic images and sexualize children. Schools are
promoting sex to children beginning at age six. Homosexual techniques
are taught in high school.
However, pedophiles are still severely condemned, as well they should. The
question is, given the Illuminati agenda, how long can this taboo
against pedophilia last? I am always interested in how society treats
these cases.’

‘Researchers from the
Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB), in
cooperation with colleagues from Oxford and Bristol Universities, as
well as the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK, have for the first time
observed a nanoscale symmetry hidden in solid state matter. They have
measured the signatures of a symmetry showing the same attributes as
the golden ratio famous from art and architecture.’

Volgende week vrijdag komt een oude bekende van me een paar dagen bij me logeren. Hij komt helemaal over vanuit Berlijn, voordat hij door gaat naar NYC. Uiteraard wil ik hem ‘the time of his life’ geven hier in Rotterdam.
Gregor: "Do you know any small indie/underground club or maybe a bigger
non-mainstream club in Rotterdam we could go to?"
Heeft iemand tips of suggesties die in dit wereldje thuis is?
Het om vrijdag 15 januari.
Alvast bedankt!
Cheers
Doc
The folks over at MOTO Labs (not related to Motorola) demonstrated a DIY yourself technique that allows the average person to easily compare touchscreen performance between multiple handsets. The test is performed by opening a drawing application on the test handset and drawing a diagonal pattern of straight lines very slowly on the screen. A good touchscreen will produce straight linear lines, while a poor touchscreen will produce wavy lines. To demonstrate the technique, MOTO Labs did a comparison test between the Apple iPhone, Google Nexus One, Motorola DROID and HTC DROID Eris. The clear winner in each of the tests was the iPhone which produced straight lines but with curving and sensitivity loss at the edges of the screen. The Nexus One and DROID Eris fall slightly below the iPhone with both handsets performing equally well, producing straight lines with some waviness and good sensitivity at the edge of the screen. At the bottom of the pack was the Motorola DROID which showed significant waviness and “stair-stepping” in all tests. These results might definitely mean something to the average user as a touchscreen that tracks poorly has a higher likelihood of misinterpreting touch input, and apparently imprecision even as small as a millimeter or two can make a significant difference when using a small on-screen keyboard or selecting text for editing. The video demonstrating the test and its results are after the jump. Watch it and let us know what you think. Is the DROID really as bad as the results show or is this test somehow skewed?

Here’s another inspiring egg preparation for you this morning – eggs baked in potato skins! That sounds like the perfect thing right about now, and it definitely falls into the category of “why didn’t we think of that?”

Audi has announced that HD Radio Technology will be standard on its 2011 model year A6, A8 and Q7 vehicles. The 2011 Audi A4, A5 and Q5 models, sold at lower price points, will also offer the technology, but with the optional navigation radio.
“We are dedicated to providing our customers with the best entertainment options to enhance their Audi driving experience,” said Filip Brabec, General Manager, Product Planning at Audi of America. “These upcoming 2011 models will be fully equipped with the best in digital broadcast engineering, making it a clear choice to offer HD Radio Technology to our customers.”
Compared to static-laden traditional AM/FM radio, HD Radio offers CD-quality sound on FM channels, and FM-stereo quality sound on AM channels. According to iBiquity Digital Corporation, the company holding the trademark for HD Radio, there are more than 2,000 HD Radio stations and more than 1,100 HD2/HD3 channels (FM multicast) currently on the air. As of today, HD radio is available to 85 percent of Americans. It’s interesting to note that when HD Radio debuted, “HD” was the abbreviation for “Hybrid Digital,” but that was later dropped. Today, “HD” is simply part of the brand name – contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t stand for “high-definition.” Audi’s press release is pasted after the jump.

Oatmeal is one of the healthiest breakfasts you can eat, and we usually like to keep our toppings pretty simple. But once in a while, why not make it just a little indulgent? Adding rich espresso and cocoa powder – and perhaps a few nuts and chocolate chips on top – combines our morning bowl of oatmeal with our favorite winter drink, the mocha.
