• Enablement and bring up of Windows Mobile 7 (for Smart phones) on chipsets with the scorpion processor, which have ARMv7 architecture.
• Software development on bootloader, kernel OEM abstraction layer, modem interface, and various drivers and features.
The Scorpion chipset is Qualcomm’s version of ARM’s Cortex A8. By being more closely optimised for the chipset the OS runs on it should have greater performance at the same clock rate as the Windows Mobile 6.5, meaning devices like the HTC HD2 will be ven faster once its loaded up with Windows Mobile 7.
Also interesting is the last line of the entry, stating that the engineer was working on a kernel OEM abstraction layer. As many readers will know, the Windows Mobile kernel does not come with a HAL, meaning it is directly compiled to the hardware it is meant to run on. With a HAL it makes the Windows Mobile code more portable, meaning it should be easier for Microsoft to provide updates for smartphones in the future.

Sería interesante ver datos y fotos sobre los distintos complejos de esta índole en el país, su estado de conservación, proyectos, y mantener vigilancia sobre el trato a los animales. Ahora yo sé que hay ciertos sectores que se oponen a los zoos y lo comprendo, pero no por eso debemos ignorar que existen y hay que echarles un ojo a nuestros políticos electos para mantenerlos en condiciones decentes.
Bueno, de primera tengo conocimientos del Zoo de Buenos Aires, Luján, La Plata, Córdoba, Mendoza. También el acuario de Mendoza, por supuesto Mundo Marino en San Clemente del Tuyú. En cuestiones de flora autóctona se conoce la reserva ecológica porteña, partes del Parque San Martín en Mendoza los cuales han sido dedicados a un entorno con flora local.
Me gustaría que aquellos que tengan datos de estos sitios en su actualidad los compartan, y por supuesto foristas de otras partes del país donde hayan zoos u reservas URBANAS (no parques nacionales). Yo cuando tenga tiempo buscaré información online para diseminarla en este hilo.
En una opinión personal, yo creo que el Zoo de Mendoza necesita una gran refuncionalización. Este podría ser una joya (por su única extensión en la ladera de un cerro), pero necesita de más servicios y primordialmente expandír a todas las especies importantes el concepto de ”jaula libre”, donde se puedan desplazar los animales a su antojo en un entorno imitando a sus zonas de origen.

For the last days the EZTV website has been inaccessible. Worried TV fans can be reassured though, the site will return as soon as the current hardware issues are resolved.
With more than half a million visits a day, EZTV is the leading TV-torrent distribution group. It therefore comes as no surprise that the recent downtime sparked the wildest rumors.
But there is no reason to panic, as the site is expected to return soon.
FreakBits spoke with EZTV’s NovaKing who told us that he will fix the problems as soon as possible. The timing is not ideal though, as he is on holiday with limited Internet access.
In the meantime, EZTV users can find the group’s releases through verified sources such as BT-Chat.

Toyota unveiled a new hybrid concept car at the American International Auto Show in Detroit Monday that is smaller than the Prius and targets younger buyers, the AP reports.
A production version of the FT-CH compact car may be sold under the Prius name, as Toyota has confirmed plans to expand the brand into an entire family of hybrids.
The FT-CH is 22 inches shorter than the Prius, according to Toyota, and more fuel efficient.
The car’s design is modeled after the retro style of early 8-bit video games, a strategy employed by the company to make the FT-CH appeal to younger buyers.
There is no official timeline for when the model will be available to the public, but Toyota says it plans to sell 1 million hybrids per year globally by launching eight new hybrids in the next few years.

I love the word treasure and your writing reminded me of Mary, the mother of Jesus and how Luke described her feelings about Jesus and her moments with him. Luke writes, “And Mary treasured this moment.” Or something similar. I think that’s what life is all about, treasuring moments.
I was excited to read this because it means I’m finding my “voice” and am inspiring and encouraging others. That is so much what writing is all about…to share, to inform and to inspire. Treasured moments also can be something you look back upon to encourage you when you’re feeling down.
Florence mentioned: It’s funny you should say this [talking about treasuring moments]. I have an unpublished post/draft in my blog about making memories with my six year old child, which came about because we were making memories last Sunday.
I hope Florence and others who read this will continue to treasure those moments, no matter how young or old their children are, write abut them, take pictures, create scrapbooks and pass the stories on.

El jefe de Gobierno inauguró las obras de recuperación del Viejo Puente Pueyrredón

El jefe de Gobierno porteño, Mauricio Macri, inauguró las obras de reacondicionamiento, puesta en valor y mantenimiento del Viejo Puente Pueyrredón, que une el barrio de Barracas con el partido de Avellaneda, y lanzó un llamado a la Nación y a la provincia de Buenos Aires para darle definitivo impulso a la recuperación integral del Riachuelo.
Nos pone muy contentos poder estar inaugurando obras en este puente tradicional, que fue el primero que conectó a la Ciudad con la provincia por la zona sur, en 1931, pero cuya estructura de izaje había dejado de funcionar hace más de 40 años, recordó Macri durante el acto, en el que estuvo acompañado por el intendente de Avellaneda, Jorge Ferraresi.
Macri sostuvo que la habilitación de esta vía de conexión se suma a las obras de infraestructura ya realizadas en los puentes Bosch y La Noria y señaló que este es un esfuerzo que hace la Ciudad en un territorio que es federal y que contribuye a mejorar la calidad de vida de miles de personas que viven en la Ciudad y en el conurbano.
El jefe de Gobierno destacó seguidamente que sería muy bueno que lográsemos trabajar en conjunto cada día más la Ciudad, las intendencias, la Nación y la provincia para afrontar también el enorme desafío que tenemos debajo de este puente, que es el Riachuelo.
Macri subrayó que existe la posibilidad de acceder a fuentes de financiamiento internacional, lo que nos da la posibilidad de encarar las obras de recuperación integral de esa cuenca hídrica.
Sin embargo, advirtió que lo que nos está faltando es el nivel de coordinación y trabajo conjunto para resolver el problema y exhortó a trabajar con esa idea para que vuelva aquella Argentina de principios del siglo pasado, cuando se diseñaban puentes como éste y se hacían obras pensando en grande para darle infraestructura de desarrollo a todos los argentinos.
Detalle de las obras realizadas
A su turno, el Ministro de Desarrollo Urbano, Daniel Chain, explicó en detalle las obras ejecutadas por la empresa Autopistas Urbanas (AUSA) para reparar el viejo puente, que presentaba un notorio grado de deterioro.
La vía de conexión con desembocadura sobre la Avenida Vieytes del lado porteño tiene 90 metros de largo y está conformada de una estructura metálica original remachada, compuesta por dos tramos fijos extremos de 26.03 metros y dos tramos levadizos centrales de 18.60 metros.
El mecanismo de izado que poseía para facilitar la navegabilidad del Riachuelo estuvo en desuso desde 1969, hasta que en julio del año pasado sus rampas volvieron a elevarse cuando comenzaron los trabajos para poner a punto el sistema y recuperar la movilidad.
La renovación total del puente, que incluyó la ejecución de una calzada metálica y de una vereda peatonal, "permite recuperar una vía de comunicación estratégica para el tránsito pesado y optimiza la conectividad vial entre la Ciudad y el sur del conurbano", señaló el Ministro Chain.

Os empresários do setor de transporte público do Grande ABC querem subir o valor das tarifas de ônibus para R$ 3. As prefeituras informaram que ainda não têm previsão de mudar o preço das passagens. Já a EMTU (Empresa Metropolitana de Transportes Urbanos), afirma que a data do reajuste anual dos ônibus intermunicipais não foi marcada.
Se o aumento for aprovado do jeito que os empresários querem, a passagem de ônibus no Grande ABC será mais cara que a da Capital paulista. Ao subir para R$ 2,70, no início deste ano, a tarifa de São Paulo se tornou a mais cara das capitais brasileiras, segundo pesquisa realizada pela ANTP (Associação Nacional de Transporte Público).
"O valor ficará mais alto que o da Capital porque o salário (dos motoristas e cobradores) na região é 35% mais alto. E lá as empresas têm subsídio da Prefeitura", explica Baltazar José de Souza, presidente da AETC/ABC (Associação das Empresas de Transporte Coletivo do ABC). Ele se refere ao fato de que, no orçamento de 2010, a Prefeitura de São Paulo pretende gastar R$ 360 milhões em subsídios para o transporte público.
"Estamos negociando esse aumento para ontem. A tarifa precisa ser, no mínimo, R$ 3, para as linhas municipais e intermunicipais. Já pedimos reunião com o Consórcio (Intermucipal do Grande ABC). Mas ainda não tem data marcada", afirma Baltazar :gaah:.
O Consórcio não confirma que foi procurado pela AETC/ABC. O órgão fará uma entrevista com os secretários de transporte da região dia 19.
As prefeituras de Santo André, São Bernardo, São Caetano e Diadema informaram que o assunto ainda não entrou na pauta de discussões dos municípios. Mauá, Ribeirão Pires e Rio Grande da Serra não responderam.
O último reajuste na tarifa de ônibus da região ocorreu em dezembro de 2008. As passagens passaram a custar R$ 2,30 em São Caetano e Rio Grande da Serra. Nas outras cidades, o valor da viagem subiu para R$ 2,50.

There are few buzzkills as harsh as tearing open a much-anticipated new gadget only to find something glaringly wrong with it. It doesn’t happen all that often anymore, with the big players all having some pretty rigorous Q&A practices in place. Unfortunately, all the reassurances in the world that something “shouldn’t happen” doesn’t help cool the burn when it actually does.
A good number of new Nexus One owners are feeling that burn this week. They sifted through the hype for weeks, took the plunge, and.. something’s wrong. According to this post over on the T-Mo support forums, Nexus Ones around the country are bouncing back and forth between 3G and EDGE like some sort of depressing tennis match (or not connecting to 3G at all) in places where the 3G signal is usually bountiful.
It took a few days, but Google and T-Mobile are on the case. According to an itty-bitty blurp statement straight from T-Mo’s mouth:
Google and T-Mobile are investigating this issue and hope to have more information for you soon. We understand your concern and appreciate your patience.
Good luck, guys – lets just hope this isn’t something that will require a hardware replacement. Those tend to get pricey.

The 2011 Audi A8 sedan made its auto show debut today at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. Sales of Audi’s flagship sedan will start in late 2010 along with the long-wheel-base version. Production will take place in Neckarsulm, Baden Wuertemberg, Germany.

A recent research note from Gluskin Sheff’s David Rosenberg highlights the high valuation, high sentiment, and technicals of the equity markets to highlight his bearish case:
- Fully 85% of S&P 500 stocks are now above their 50-day moving averages and;
- The median P/E multiple is now a whopping 22.2x.
- The degree of bullish sentiment in the latest Investor Intelligence Poll is a huge 72%;
Of course, much of this has been the case throughout the rally. While the technicals appear somewhat extended this is not unusual during a major market rally. As we can see in the chart below, stocks have been well above their 50 day moving average for much of the rally and this has not served as an impediment:
As for earnings, we all know my thoughts here. Earnings hit such a deep trough and estimates spiked so low that this has actually been fuel for the fire. It might sound counter-intuitive, but the trough in estimates actually led to very poor earnings expectations which has fueled the rally higher. As we’ve explained before, using the PE ratio to time investment decisions is a recipe for disaster. The PE ratio is nothing more than a moving price target (which rarely reflects the true market value) divided by the guesstimates of the analyst community. If we’ve learned one thing over the last 6 months it is that analysts can’t guess their way out of a wet paper bag. The result is, in my opinion, one of the most misleading and overused investment indicators of all time.
In terms of sentiment we continue to see conflicting messages. While the Investors Intelligence poll remains overly bullish we continue to see bearish data from the CFTC’s commitment of traders report, neutral data from the AAII and neutral data from State Street’s Institutional Money poll. Cherry picking one report doesn’t mean sentiment is overly bullish.
There are real fundamental reasons to worry about the long-term viability of this rally, but these three should be taken with a grain of salt for now.
