At the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, BMW will show its new Concept ActiveE<\/a> alongside the BMW Z4 sDrive35is<\/a>, as well as the North American unveiling of the twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine version of the 2011 BMW 740i and 740Li<\/a> sedans. The German automaker just announced that it will also debut the 6-cylinder turbocharged version of the BMW 535i Gran Turismo.<\/p>\n

The 535i Gran Turismo will be powered by BMW’s 3.0L 6-cylinder turbocharged engine making 300-hp at 5,800 rpm with a peak torque of 300 lb-ft available from 1,200 to 5,000 rpm.\u00a0The engine will allow the 535i Gran Turismo to go from 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds.<\/p>\n

“This is the same level of performance as the current 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder but with the innovation of twin-scroll technology and the integration of VALVETRONIC, this new engine will be even more fuel efficient,” BMW said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The BMW 535i Gran Turismo will go on sale with the 2011 Z4 Drive35is, 2011 740i and 740Li and the 550i Gran Turismo<\/a> (unveiled at the 2009 LA Auto Show)\u00a0in Spring 2010.<\/p>\n
