{"id":104796,"date":"2009-12-24T07:59:00","date_gmt":"2009-12-24T12:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9864176.post-3107065898361595047"},"modified":"2009-12-24T08:03:02","modified_gmt":"2009-12-24T13:03:02","slug":"pge-takes-another-shot-at-wave-power","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/104796","title":{"rendered":"PG&amp;E takes another shot at wave power"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cleantech.com reports that Californian utility PG&#038;E is investigating a 100 MW <a href=\"http:\/\/peakenergy.blogspot.com\/2008\/02\/tapping-source-power-of-oceans.html\">wave power<\/a> project &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/cleantech.com\/news\/5410\/pge-takes-another-shot-wave-power\">PG&#038;E takes another shot at wave power<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>San Francisco&#8217;s Pacific Gas &#038; Electric said today it filed a filed a preliminary permit application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for a three-year study of a potential wave power site with a capacity of up to 100 megawatts off the coast of northern Santa Barbara County.<\/p>\n<p>If the study is successful, the utility proposes the installation of wave energy conversion devices that would feed into the electrical grid at Vandenberg Air Force Base. PG&#038;E said it already signed an agreement with the U.S. Air Force to allow it to conduct the study.<\/p>\n<p>PG&#038;E has received approval from FERC to conduct environmental studies of a potential wave power site off the coast of Humboldt County.
