{"id":111791,"date":"2009-12-30T08:00:01","date_gmt":"2009-12-30T13:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/?p=11355"},"modified":"2009-12-30T08:00:01","modified_gmt":"2009-12-30T13:00:01","slug":"everything-we-know-about-the-nexus-one-%e2%80%93-and-a-few-things-we-still-don%e2%80%99t-updated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/111791","title":{"rendered":"Everything We Know About the Nexus One \u2013 And a Few Things We Still Don\u2019t [UPDATED]"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"KonaBody\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/nexus_one_011.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-11362\" title=\"nexus_one_01\" src=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/nexus_one_011.jpg\" alt=\"nexus_one_01\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a>We know there&#8217;s a lot to keep up with in regardds to the Nexus One so we&#8217;ve tasked ourselves with compiling all the known and rumored information.\u00a0 Below, you&#8217;ll find all the latest gossip and leaks.\u00a0 Until we hear officially, all of this is subject to change!\u00a0 For what it&#8217;s worth, all the initial rumors are panning out so keep your fingers crossed! <span id=\"more-11355\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The latest is&#8230;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>An <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/29\/google-inviting-press-to-android-gathering\/\"><strong>event has been scheduled for January 5th<\/strong><\/a>, with invitations being sent out to members of the press.\u00a0\u00a0 Google is hosting the Android event at the Googleplex at 9:30AM PST.<\/li>\n<li>Internal T-Mobile screen shots indicate a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/29\/leaked-screens-confirm-nexus-one-sold-by-google-supported-by-t-mobile\/\"><strong>Google-sold device with T-Mobile support<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Engadget has reported that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/23\/engadget-nexus-one-will-be-invitation-only-at-first\/\"><strong>Nexus One will start off as invitation only<\/strong><\/a> and then roll out to T-Mobile customers<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/23\/engadget-nexus-one-will-be-invitation-only-at-first\/\"><strong>hardware specs<\/strong><\/a> indicate a very powerful device with plenty of memory to go around.<\/li>\n<li>Rumored price puts the phone at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/29\/nexus-one-to-be-530-full-price-180-on-contract\/\"><strong>$180 with 2-yr contract<\/strong><\/a> and $530 outright.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The Back Story &#8230;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Around the middle of October a writer for TheStreet.com was the first to really get the Google Phone rumors rolling again.\u00a0 He claimed that <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/androidguyscom\/~3\/2009\/10\/20\/google-working-on-their-own-phone-for-2009-release\/\">Google would be selling a handset<\/a> <\/strong>directly, bypassing carriers.<\/li>\n<li>Google had a meeting on Friday and <a href=\"http:\/\/feedproxy.google.com\/~r\/androidguyscom\/~3\/2009\/12\/12\/tons-of-unlocked-google-phones-given-out-to-employees-will-this-be-gphone-weekend\/\" ><strong>handed handsets out to everyone<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Twitter helps break the news.<\/li>\n<li>Some believe this is the Google Phone news we&#8217;ve been waiting for.\u00a0 Other think it&#8217;s just the same thing as last year &#8211; nothing more than a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2008\/12\/22\/google-staff-receives-dream-phones-for-holiday-bonus-called-dogfood\/\"><strong>gift to employees<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Nothing has been officially announced.\u00a0 The closest we have so far is a post from the Google Mobile Blog that says their employees are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/12\/google-employees-dogfooding-a-mobile-lab\/\"><strong>dogfooding a mobile lab<\/strong><\/a>. Said handsets are unlocked and feature new mobile features and capabilities.<\/li>\n<li>The Wall Street Journal publishes an article that pretty much <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052748703757404574592530591075444.html?mg=com-wsj\" ><strong>confirms the rumors<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 The code name &#8216;Nexus One&#8221; is born.<\/li>\n<li>A few pictures have identified the handset as &#8220;Phone 88&#8243;.\u00a0 Perhaps each phone has a unique model\/serial written into it to identify leaks.\u00a0 Looking back at the <a href=\"http:\/\/theunlockr.com\/2009\/10\/16\/what-new-htc-android-phone-is-this\/\" ><strong>first Dragon\/Passion images<\/strong><\/a>, we were told that the image blacked out parts of the screen because\u00a0 &#8220;<em>&#8230;it has a number that I\u2019m told is used to determine who this phone was loaned to.<\/em>&#8220;\u00a0 Coincidence?\u00a0 Maybe.<\/li>\n<li>The phone looks exactly like the HTC Dragon\/Passion except for the missing HTC branding.\u00a0 Specs include a Snapdragon 1GHz chip, 3.7-inch AMOLED display, and a 5 megapixel camera.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/5415169\/leak-the-google-phone-is-a-certainty\" ><strong>Gizmodo&#8217;s source<\/strong><\/a> from a few weeks back said that we have yet to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/11\/30\/gizmodo-source-google-phone-is-a-certainty\/\"><strong>see the &#8216;real&#8217; Android<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Based on collected descriptions, the &#8216;real&#8217; Android might be one designed by Google which has every screen, button, and animated background specifically designed.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to a quick start that comes with the handsets, there is mention of a page for questions at google.com\/phone\/support.<\/span> The site is inactive at this time. <\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">UPDATE 3: A r<\/span>eader of ours swapped the URL around and found a reference to Android at<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/support\/phone\/\" >http:\/\/www.google.com\/support\/phone\/<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">T<\/span>he phone has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/14\/googles-nexus-one-certified-by-fcc\/\"><strong>cleared through the FCC<\/strong><\/a> with AT&amp;T and T-Mobile bands.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Google releases<a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/15\/exclusive-nexus-one-holiday-game\/\"> a game for Nexus One owners<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Google applied for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/16\/google-trademarks-nexus-one\/\"><strong>trademark to Nexus One<\/strong><\/a> on December 10th.\u00a0 Why patent an experimental handset that&#8217;s designed to stay internal?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>We&#8217;ve Also Heard&#8230;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Rumored to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boygeniusreport.com\/2009\/12\/12\/oh-hai-google-phone-nexus-one\/\" ><strong>sold via Best Buy<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Rumored to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/?p=11356\"><strong>supported by T-Mobile after Verizon balked<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Will be unlocked and work over T-Mobile as well as AT&amp;T\n<ul>\n<li>According to Engadget, it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2009\/12\/14\/htc-nexus-one-blessed-by-the-fcc-with-t-mobile-and-att-huspa\/\" ><strong>may not work for AT&amp;T<\/strong><\/a> after all<\/li>\n<li><strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/16\/nexus-one-traffic-patterns-solidify-t-mobile-rumors\/\">Nexus One traffic patterns<\/a><\/strong> solidify T-Mobile rumors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Runs Android 2.1<\/li>\n<li>Expected to have been launched this year, pushed to early 2010<\/li>\n<li>Google is planning on advertising it<\/li>\n<li>Eldar Murtazin believes that all of this is<a href=\"http:\/\/www.androidguys.com\/2009\/12\/15\/are-the-google-phone-rumors-an-elaborate-apple-hoax\/\"><strong> a fabrication, possibly started by Apple<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>We Still Don&#8217;t Know<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>When launch is\u00a0 expected &#8211; <strong>announcement January 5th should reveal this<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Will this be directly sold through Google?
