After all, there was never any doubt that the German-owned maker of high-end luxury cars would eventually cut the top off its latest sportster &#8212; in this case powered by the most powerful production version of the automaker&#8217;s 6.0-liter W12 powerplant.<\/p>\n<p>For those that like to keep track of such things, this would be the eighth derivative of the Continental platform &#8211; the others being the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/model\/continental+gt\">GT coupe<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/model\/continental+gtc\">GTC cabrio<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/continental+flying+spur\">Flying Spur sedan<\/a>, Speed versions of each and the Supersports coupe. If it does indeed see the light of day, expect the GTC Supersports to boast a similar weight reduction as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2009\/04\/09\/the-price-of-green-bentley-continental-supersports-is-267-000\/\">the coupe<\/a> (243 pounds, although it&#8217;s sure to gain a few when the top comes off) along with carbon ceramic brakes and the deletion of the rear seats.
