For ABC News and the corporate media, it is a foregone conclusion. The Christmas underwear bomber is al-Qaeda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmerican officials have cause to worry there may be more al
\nQaeda-trained young men in Yemen planning to bring down American
\njets,\u201d report Brian Ross and Richard Esposito<\/a>.
\n\u201cUmar Farouk Abdulmutallab, charged with the attempted Christmas
\nDay bombing of Northwest Airlines flight 253, told FBI agents there
\nwere more just like him in Yemen who would strike soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

And then there is the supposed tape released four days before the
\nattempted underwear bombing. It shows what ABC describes as \u201cthe
\nleader of al Qaeda in Yemen\u201d who says he will kill Americans.
\n\u201cWe are carrying a bomb to hit the enemies of God.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYemen has become a principal al Qaeda training ground and the
\naccused suicide bomber told the FBI he was trained for more than a
\nmonth in Yemen, given 80 grams of a high explosive cleverly sewn into
\nhis underpants, undetected by standard security screening.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the neocon Joe Lieberman<\/a>
\nsaid the U.S. needs to bomb Yemen and pronto. \u201cIraq was
\nyesterday\u2019s war, Afghanistan is today\u2019s war. If we
\ndon\u2019t act preemptively, Yemen will be tomorrow\u2019s
\nwar,\u201d the \u201chawkish\u201d (neocon) senator from Connecticut
\ntold Fox News.<\/p>\n

Lieberman, who helms the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental
\nAffairs Committee, said Yemen is the new home of al-Qaeda. A script on
\nYemen and al-Qaeda is now being uniformly followed by the corporate
\nmedia.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, more suspicious information about the underwear bombing
\nhas surfaced. An eye witness told the news talk radio station 620 WTMJ<\/a> in Milwaukee that a man on the flight had videotaped the entire flight.<\/p>\n

Patricia \u201cScotty\u201d Keepman and her daughter witnessed the
\nalleged botched bombing. Keepman\u2019s \u201cdaughter said that
\nahead of them was a man who videotaped the entire flight, including the
\nattempted detonation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe sat up and videotaped the entire thing, very
\ncalmly,\u201d said Patricia. \u201cWe do know that the FBI is looking
\nfor him intensely. Since then, we\u2019ve heard nothing about
\nit.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Saturday it was reported<\/a>
\nthat a \u201csharp-dressed man\u201d had escorted Umar Farouk Abdul
\nMutallab when he boarded Northwest Airlines Flight 253 in Amsterdam.
\nMutallab was allowed on the plane without a passport. It was later
\nreported that Mutallab seemed to be in a trance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The alleged videotaping of the underwear bomber and his fudged
\nattack is another oddity that the corporate media should zoom in on.
\nUnfortunately, we no longer have a functioning investigative media in
\nthis country.<\/p>\n

Instead we will hear endless pabulum about a resurgent al-Qaeda and
\nmurderous idiocy from neocons like Joe Lieberman who are screaming for
\nanother small and defenseless country to be bombed and more innocents
\nslaughtered as the U.S. chases a phantom terror group created by the
\nCIA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
