{"id":113262,"date":"2009-11-20T16:36:00","date_gmt":"2009-11-20T21:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"tag:typepad.com,2003:post-6a00d8341c89dd53ef0120a68ca23a970b"},"modified":"2009-11-20T16:39:22","modified_gmt":"2009-11-20T21:39:22","slug":"drug-industry-document-archive-dida-adds-15-more-pharma-related-documents-to-collection-in-november-2009","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/113262","title":{"rendered":"Drug Industry Document Archive (DIDA) Adds 15 More Pharma-Related Documents To Collection In November 2009"},"content":{"rendered":"<div xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\">\n<p><strong><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 14px; FONT-FAMILY: \"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 15px; FONT-FAMILY: \"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 16px; FONT-FAMILY: \">This Archive Contains Some\u00a0&#8220;Secret&#8221; Documents Only Made Public In The Course Of Lawsuits Filed Against Pharmaceutical Companies<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 16px; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 16px; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 16px; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 16px; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana\"><font size=\"2\"><strong>(Posted by Tom Lamb at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drug-injury.com\/\" ><span style=\"COLOR: #003366\"><font size=\"2\"><strong>DrugInjuryWatch.com<\/strong><\/font><\/span><\/a><font size=\"2\"><strong>)<\/strong><\/font><\/strong><\/font><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Created and maintained by the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), <a href=\"http:\/\/dida.library.ucsf.edu\" >the Drug Industry Document Archive (DIDA)<\/a> contains over 1500 documents, many of which were previously secret and only made public as a result of lawsuits filed against drug\u00a0companies.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2009 Kim Klausner, who is the Tobacco Digital Library Manager at UCSF, kindly sent us an email notification about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drug-injury.com\/druginjurycom\/2009\/09\/designwrite-work-wyeth-ghostwriting-premarin-nyt-september-dida.html\" >the addition of some Wyeth ghostwriting documents to the DIDA collection<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a couple of months later, Kim Klausner has let us know about 15 new rather &#8220;revealing&#8221; pharma-related documents that have been added to this DIDA collection.\u00a0 From her recent email:<\/p>\n<blockquote dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>I\u2019m pleased to announce that we\u2019ve added 15 new documents to the Drug Industry Document Archive (DIDA).\u00a0 You can find them by typing in \u201cddu:20091112\u201d without the quotation marks in the query box at http:\/\/dida.library.ucsf.edu.\u00a0 (A few of the documents in this batch replace damaged ones so are not strictly \u201cnew.\u201d)<\/p>\n<p>The documents include:<\/p>\n<p><span>&#8212; Depositions from Karen Mittleman, the DesignWrite staffer who worked on Wyeth\u2019s publication plan for Premarin products. She responds to questions about how academic authors, her medical communications company and the drug manufacturer implemented its plan. (Parts of these documents appear redacted because the version we received had highlighting which doesn\u2019t OCR well.) <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><span>&#8212; A letter from Thomas Sullivan, President of Rockpointe, a medical communications firm, spells out the terms under which his company does business with numerous drug company clients and clarifies his relationship with ACRE, the Association of Clinical Researchers and Educators. He also provides a list of payments from drug and medical device companies for Rockpointe services from 2006 to June 2009. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8212; The 1999 Tactical Plan for Paxil which includes participation in ISAAC (Initiative for Social Anxiety Assessment and Care), a disease-based registry of potential patients\/customers, for which physicians will be paid $100 for each person recruited. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8212; The 2004 Lexapro Marketing Plan which includes this gem:\u00a0 <\/span>Bylined articles will allow us to fold Lexapro messages into articles on depression, anxiety and comorbidity developed by (or ghostwritten for) thought leaders (page 23).<\/p>\n<p>Feel free to forward this announcement to anyone who might be interested.
