Taliban insurgents had planned to use five Americans
\ndetained in Pakistan, who had contacted the militant group through the
\nInternet, to carry out attacks inside the U.S. ally, a police official
\nsaid on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Usman Anwar, police chief in Sargodha, where the men
\nwere arrested this month, said emails had also revealed plans for the
\nyoung men from Virginia to travel to a Pakistani nuclear power plant.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that they were supposed to be used inside Pakistan,\u201d Anwar told Reuters by telephone.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn their last email to the Taliban, we found they mentioned
\nthe Chashma Nuclear Plant and that\u2019s why they were going to
\nMianwali (district).\u201d<\/p>\n
