\nAirs Eyewitness Testimony that \u2018Well-Dressed\u2019 Indian
\naccomplice helped Abdulmutallab board without passport and that man on
\nplane filmed entire flight and bombing attempt<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Evidence is emerging that clearly indicates Abdulmutallab was more
\nthan just a Nigerian extremist carrying out his anger through an
\nill-conceived plot to ignite a powdery explosive substance on-board a
\nflight to the United States. Eyewitness testimony pointing to a man helping the accused terrorist board without a passport<\/a>, along with an unusual cameraman documenting the attempted attack<\/a>
\non board the plane raise more than red flags\u2013 they point towards
\nan intelligence operation, run as a drill, meant to conjure up public
\nsupport for a number of fronts in the continuing \u2018War on
\nTerror.\u2019<\/p>\n

CNN interviewed key flight witnesses during their Dec. 28 program
\nwho raised these very points, making clear that the full story is still
\nemerging and that wider-connections to intelligence handlers is evident.<\/p>\n

THE SHARP-DRESSED MAN<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kurt Haskell and his wife, who were witnesses on board Northwest Airlines Flight 253 saw Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab receiving assistance from a well-dressed, wealthy-looking Indian man<\/a>
\nat the boarding gate in Amsterdam. Haskell told CNN that the accused
\nbomber appeared strikingly \u2018poor\u2019 next to the well-dressed
\nman. According to Haskell, that man did the talking for him, explaining
\nto the flight personnel at the gate that Abdulmutallab needed to board
\nwithout a passport, claiming that he was a Sudanese refugee. Haskell
\ntold CNN:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cLaurie and I were sitting near the boarding
\ngate, sitting on the floor, there weren\u2019t any seats to sit in.
\nAnd I saw two men. They caught my eye because they seemed to
\nbe an odd pair. One was what I would describe as a poor-looking black
\nteenager around 16 or 17, and the other man, age 50-ish, wealthy
\nlooking Indian man. And I was just wondering why they were
\ntogether\u2013 kinda strange. <\/strong>And I watched them approach
\nwhat I would call the ticket agent, the final person that checks your
\nboarding pass before you get on the plane. And I could hear the entire
\nconversation. The only person that spoke was the Indian man,
\nand what he said was: \u2018This man needs to board the plane, but he
\ndoesn\u2019t have a passport.\u2019 And the ticket agent responded,
\n\u2018Well, if he doesn\u2019t have a passport, he can\u2019t get on
\nthe plane.\u2019 To which the Indian man responded back,
\n\u2018He\u2019s from Sudan. We do this all the time.\u2019 And the
\nticket agent said, \u2018Well, then you\u2019ll have to go and talk
\nto my manager.\u2019 <\/strong>And she directed them down a hallway.
\nAnd that was the last time I saw the Indian man, and the black man I
\ndidn\u2019t see again until he tried to blow up our plane hours
\nlater.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The gate attendee referred the odd-couple to the manager. Haskell
\nsaid that was the last he saw of the wealthy man, but later recognized
\nAbdulmutallab after the incident occurred on the plane. That\u2019s
\nwhen he says he put two and two together about the unusual connection.<\/p>\n

His wife, Laurie, said she found it \u2018odd\u2019 that
\nauthorities have not yet followed up on their witness account, as they
\nwere the only ones known to have witnessed Abdulmutallab with the
\n\u2018Indian\u2019 man prior to boarding the flight.<\/p>\n

THE CAMERAMAN<\/strong><\/p>\n

If he had help getting on the flight with no passport after having been reported to U.S. authorities by his own father<\/a>,
\nwhat is the true explanation for the man seen filming the entire
\nflight? Another witness on board the flight, Richelle Keepman, said she
\nnoticed the mysterious cameraman<\/a>
\nat the beginning of the flight, believing the man might have been
\nsimply excited about a first flight, or etc. Later when the
\n\u2018bombing\u2019 incident took place, she says the cameraman was the only one standing up, and intently filming the entire incident<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

ADDULMUTALLAB AND THE WIDER WAR ON TERROR<\/strong><\/p>\n

Put this together with new focus on Yemen<\/a> \u2018in the fight against Al Qaeda\u2019, including calls from Sen. Lieberman to pre-emptively attack<\/a>,
\nthe media\u2019s immediate hype of the event, and the ready-made Body
\nScanners and other \u2018enhanced\u2019 Airport security, it is clear
\nthat this is a contrived incident intentionally unleashed to goad
\nrenewed support for ever-expanding terrorism-related warfare in Iraq,
\nAfghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan and now Yemen.<\/p>\n

Just like after 9\/11, airport travelers are again prepared to accept
\ngreater violations of their liberties and privacy for supposed
\nsecurity. Yet patsies and watchlist-subjects alike have repeatedly been
\nallowed to bypass security clearance and been proven to have ties to
\nthe intelligence community.<\/p>\n

The latest accused \u2018terrorist\u2019 Abdulmutallab was very
\nlikely the fall-guy in a pattern-drill\u2013 handled by wealthy,
\nmismatched associates, allowed to board without required credentials,
\nand videotaped by a cameraman with an unknown connection. Was
\nAbdulmutallab involved with these figures through a drill which ended
\nwith an intentionally-failed bombing meant to incite great fear of
\nterrorism?<\/p>\n

PREVIOUSLY-STAGED TERROR<\/strong><\/p>\n

This would fit closely with other elements of CIA-concocted
\n\u201cterrorism.\u201d Many of the 9\/11 hijackers and other known
\nextremists were revealed to have participated in \u2018dry run\u2019
\ndrills, shared addresses with intelligence handlers or lived on
\nmilitary bases, were allowed to pass through the border despite being
\non one or more watchlists, and were given VISAS\/Passports through
\nexecptions and\/or special clearance.<\/p>\n

Similarly, David Headly, named in the Mumbai attack, has been exposed as a CIA-double agent<\/a>.<\/p>\n

FBI\/CIA provocateurs and exaggerated accounts of extremists groups
\nhave continued to emerge from the phony stories given to the public in
\nthe cases of many would-be plots, such as in Toronto<\/a>, the \u2018plot\u2019 to bomb the Sears Tower<\/a>, the Transatlantic liquid bomb plot<\/a>, alleged plans to \u2018blow up a Jewish temple and shoot down military planes\u2019 in New York<\/a> and more.<\/p>\n

We see a similar pattern here, the emerging evidence strongly
\nsuggests. How long will we allow deliberately-provoked terror incidents
\nto frighten us to death, invade our privacy, erode our liberties,
\nrestrict our travel and perpetuate an ever-expanding string of wars?<\/p>\n

COMMENTARY: BODY-SCANNERS AND THE SECURITY-SWINDLE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Benjamin Franklin long ago warned us that \u201cIf we restrict
\nliberty to attain security, we will lose both.\u201d And that those
\nwilling to make that bargain deserve neither their liberty nor security.<\/p>\n

This adage, frequently used by Benjamin Franklin in a body of work,
\nwith many variations in the freedom vs. security theme. On the most
\nbasic level, government is established only for the common security of
\nits people. Thus, it is no surprise that government tends to test the
\nline between the government and the governed on grounds of
\n\u201csecurity.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is no coincidence that Franklin and fellow compatriots like
\nThomas Paine laid down principled reasons for an individuals\u2019
\nrights in respect to government.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s advances in technology do not diminish the principled
\nreasons for keeping government\u2019s power in check with the
\npeople\u2019s essential, as per Franklin\u2013 freedom. The
\n\u2018War on Terror\u2019 is a shining example of Franklin\u2019s
\nprinciple gone awry. You cannot fight against an existential, shadowy
\n\u201cenemy\u201d, on a fishing expedition for evidence, avoiding
\ncertainties and \u201cevidence\u201d, and employing such unprincipled
\ntactics as torture, rendition, widespread wire-tapping\u2013 going
\nagainst the very spirit of the law established by the Constitution,
\nwhile hoping to maintain that opposing spirit in the nation.<\/p>\n

There is a limit to \u201csecurity\u201d\u2013 in other words,
\nthere are limits to what government, set up to protect the rights of
\nthe governed, can do in the line of duty. The People have
\nConstitutionally protected rights to privacy, probable cause before
\ninspection or search, security in personal belongings and property, due
\nprocess and other related safeguards against the tendencies of
\ngovernment ( <\/span>4th and 5th amendments<\/a><\/span>), and a government must avoid violating these rights. But even this is not the point.<\/p>\n

The people, for reasons of \u201csecurity\u201d and stripped and
\nsearched in every increasing contraptions of detection\u2013 losing
\nprivacy, dignity and basic freedom of travel. All the while, the rare,
\nreal perpetrator, identified as a terrorist, never goes through the
\ndatabase checks, security screening or passenger tracking schemes
\nset-up by Homeland Security. The people do. Mothers with breastmilk.
\nBusiness men with laptops. Shoes, belts, nail clippers, tooth paste,
\nunderwear, but not terrorists.<\/p>\n

They evidently are whisked through by contacts who may or may not
\nwork directly for the FBI, CIA or etc. Databases make exceptions for
\nits most-important targets while people with commonly-confused names
\nare kept from flying or subject to secondary screening. Any ordinary
\nperson without proper documentation is subject, at the least, to
\nalternate verification and likely quite a few intense questions. For
\nthis would-be bomber, it is apparently the matter of a handshake with
\nthe manager, and a high-level contact to vouch as sponsor.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a bait and switch. It\u2019s not security,
\nConstitutionally-sound or not. It\u2019s a scheme to tightly-control
\nthe travel of ordinary Americans while co-opting that fear to generate
\nsupport for various overseas operations. It is textbook
\nproblem-reaction-solution.<\/p>\n

The Body-Scanners, next in line of the wratched-up security measures
\nbeing put forward by TSA, along with newly hailed restrictions, such as
\nbanning blankets, electronics and on-board bathroom use during the
\nfinal 60 minutes of flight, are heavy-handed measures set up by
\nHomeland Security and waiting for the right excuse to put them into
\nplace.<\/p>\n

Though the Body Scanners have already been phased in throughout the
\nU.S., only with this latest incident is it been publicly introduced. It
\ndirectly mirrors the TSA\u2019s shoe fetish, which was sold on the lie
\nof the preposterous shoebombing-attempt<\/a> purported by Richard Reid.<\/p>\n

The heroic, but also practical actions of the passengers in
\nthwarting this attack is a sane reminder in the fog of the \u2018War
\non Terror\u2019 that people can actually fend for themselves in many
\nsituations, particularly in the face of danger. Though real, big scale
\ndangers do exist for governments clearly play a role, we cannot shriek
\nin the face of danger, handing over to government all that we hold in
\nthe balance. There are ways of detecting crimes, preventing attacks and
\n\u2019saving lives, for the children\u2019 that don\u2019t involve a
\ndragnet combing over the whole of the population.<\/p>\n

The game is surely rigged if the criminal it was meant to catch
\nwalks right through the proverbial back-door, which was held open for
\nhim by the archetypal inside man. The trading of liberty for so-called
\nsecurity does not balance favorably, but transfers power duly held by
\nthe people to the government, the more dangerous by the loosened-chains
\nof the Constitution.<\/p>\n
