Former CIA official Philip Giraldi says<\/a> that:<\/p>\n

U.S. intelligence has concluded that the document
\npublished recently by the Times of London, which purportedly describes
\nan Iranian plan to do experiments on what the newspaper described as a
\n\u201cneutron initiator\u201d for an atomic weapon, is a fabrication.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Like the Nigerian \u201cyellow cake\u201d forgery, U.S.
\nintelligence had to have known the Iranian document was a forgery, and
\nyet failed to debunk either. Indeed, as Time points out<\/a>, the yellow cake document:<\/p>\n

had been checked out \u2014 and debunked \u2014 by U.S. intelligence a year <\/span>before the President repeated it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Indeed, a claim that Iran is trying to buy uranium is now being made
\nagainst Iran, just as it was with Iraq. Specifically, Associated Press
\n\u2013 citing unnamed \u201cdiplomats\u201d from an unnamed country
\n\u2013 is reporting<\/a> today that Iran is trying to obtain uranium. However, Iran says<\/a> that it has 1,400 uranium mines (a senior IAEA official was allowed to visit one of the mines in 1992<\/a>) \u2013 so why would Iran need to purchase more uranium from another country?<\/p>\n
