Two more eyewitnesses contradict FBI\u2019s denial that Abdulmutallab had possible accomplices<\/p>\n

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials have
\nadmitted that a second man possibly carrying explosives was detained
\nafter last week\u2019s aborted plane bombing attack, contradicting
\ninitial statements by the FBI that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was the
\nonly person arrested or charged in relation to Friday\u2019s foiled
\nattack.<\/p>\n

As we reported yesterday, attorney and Flight 253
\neyewitness Kurt Haskell said that he saw a well-dressed Indian man aid
\nthe accused bomber to board the plane despite the fact that he had no
\npassport and was on a terror watch list. After the incident, while the
\npassengers were being detained, Haskell witnessed an Indian man being
\nhandcuffed and led away after a bomb-sniffing dog had flagged up his
\nluggage. The FBI then removed the other passengers from the area,
\nstrongly indicating that explosive materials had been found in the
\nman\u2019s bag.<\/p>\n

Officials have now been forced to acknowledge that a
\nsecond man was detained despite initial FBI denials after two more
\nwitnesses came forward to validate Haskell\u2019s account.<\/p>\n

\u201cDaniel Huisinga of Fairview, Tenn., who was
\nreturning from an internship in Kenya for the holidays, says he also
\nsaw a man being taken away in handcuffs at the airport after a dog
\nsearch. A third person, Roey Rosenblith, told The Huffington Post on Sunday<\/a> that he saw a man in a suit being placed into handcuffs and escorted out, as well,\u201d reports Michigan Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHuisinga talked about seeing a man taken away at
\nthe airport during an interview Monday on MSNBC. He mentions it at
\nabout the 1:25 mark of the video below. The reporter appears to confuse
\nHuisinga\u2019s account with a man who was detained on a separate
\nflight Sunday and deemed not to be a threat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Huisinga later told Michigan Live that the Indian man
\nwho was later detained by the FBI after dogs had detected something
\nsuspicious in his baggage was \u201cwearing a nice suit,\u201d
\nraising questions as to whether this was the same man who helped
\nAbdulmutallab board the plane. Huisinga was located about 20 feet from
\nwhere the man was handcuffed.<\/p>\n

Huisinga shared Haskell\u2019s view that the
\npassengers were moved because more explosives had been discovered,
\nadding that agents told the passengers that they could not use their
\ncell phones or computers. \u201cWe were kind of left to draw our own
\nconclusions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is unknown why the person was detained or
\nwhether the person will face any charges,\u201d U.S. Customs and
\nBorder Protection spokesman Ron Smith told MLive.com.<\/p>\n

The FBI is still denying that a second person was
\ndetained in relation to the incident, raising suspicions as to whether
\nthe well-dressed Indian man is being protected by the authorities and
\nfor what reason.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of stories out there,
\nwhether any of them are accurate or not, or they\u2019re a little bit
\naccurate and blown out of proportion,\u201d FBI spokesman Bill Carter
\nsaid. \u201cBut I\u2019m not aware of anyone charged or arrested
\nother than Abdulmutallab.\u201d<\/p>\n
