The 2010 Tournament of Roses Parade troop is appropriately named \u201cTroop 2010.\u201d Brandon and the other members of Troop 2010 were scheduled to walk the 5.5-mile parade route in full uniform alongside the 2010 BSA Rose Parade Float.
\n Brandon, 16, is the son of residents Patrick and Susan Chavez. He completed his Eagle Scout Board of Review on June 18, 2009 and had his Court of Honor on October 10 at the Diamond Club in Lake Elsinore.
\nThe Tournament of Roses hosts a variety of activities with \u201cAmerica\u2019s New Year Celebration.\u201d In 2010, the Tournament of Roses will also host the Citi BCS National Championship Game in addition to the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game. \nA trip to the Rose Parade is \u201cthe ideal image of how to finish up a year,\u201d said Rinehart. A double major in music and business administration and one of 14 snare drummers in the 225-member Ohio State band, the third-year member credits high school director Jim Templeton as his motivation: \u201cHe definitely pushed me in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n
