And at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, a baby was born 30 seconds after midnight, said spokeswoman Jill McDonnell. No other details were released.
\nLyndsay, 21, said: \u201cI actually went to hospital earlier in the day \u2013 around 3pm \u2013 but they sent me home to wait a bit longer.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey said that she wasn\u2019t quite round the right way, and that I should wait at home while the contractions carried on.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I went home and tried to stay up for the midnight bells, but I was really tired so I fell asleep.<\/p>\n
\u201cI woke up with my final contractions just as the countdown was starting on TV.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy the time the fireworks started my contractions were really fast and powerful, so I called my husband\u2019s aunt and she drove me to the hospital for about 3am, and I gave birth an hour later.\u201d<\/p>\n
And the festive period looks set to be a busy time for the Boyd family as Mya\u2019s four-year-old sister, Jodie, celebrates her birthday on Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n
Lyndsay and husband William, who works in a Broxburn abattoir, also have another daughter \u2013 one-year-old Brooke.<\/p>\n
Lyndsay said: \u201cWith her sister being born on Christmas Eve, the festive period\u2019s going to end up quite expensive, especially when they\u2019re teenagers!<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was actually due on the 29th, and seeing as she\u2019s my third I genuinely didn\u2019t think she\u2019d arrive any later than that.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was quite crabby at first, but she\u2019s been brilliant since, absolutely gorgeous and feeding all the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd she\u2019s very healthy too \u2013 she\u2019s definitely had more sleep than I have!\u201d<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cIt\u2019s a brilliant feeling bringing a new generation into the family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dad William, 24, was at home looking after the couple\u2019s younger two children \u2013 but Lyndsay admitted that the anxious father had been in touch constantly.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cHe\u2019s been ringing every half an hour while looking after Mya\u2019s older sisters \u2013 he can\u2019t wait to see her.\u201d<\/p>\n
Little Mya made her way into the world at 8lbs and 7ozs.<\/p>\n
